    IF YOU ARE READING THIS ANCIENT OLD THREAD AFTER 2013 - WHY WHY WHY?

    IT IS ANCIENT, A FORUM'S PAGE ONE IS ONLY EVER ONE CLICK AWAY FROM ANY THREAD. THINGS CHANGE, ADVICE CHANGES, DO NOT READ OLD FORUM THREADS, EVER, ON ANY SUBJECT IF LOOKING FOR IMPORTANT ADVICE ON MONEY MATTERS.

    see my signature below (the black writing) for where to click in the above breadcrumb trail (LITTLE BLUE LINK) to hop ONE CLICK to page one and read the top threads of CURRENT advice on private parking tickets.

    STOP READING THIS OLD THREAD.

    STOP!
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
    CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
    Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • I had a run in yesterday with UKPC , parked at Currys Dudley with a Blind friend, parked in a diabled person bay, spent almost £300 with Currys and got fined £70 on their car park.

    I have submitted blue badge details today, also written to Currys, but I have notice since yesterday, that many Supermakets are using this firm UKPC.
    If they do to me, what they seem to do to most people, I am reading about, I shall consider taking out harrasment action with as much media attention as possible, however I will say those companies engaging this company are as guilty as UKPC, maybe we should boycott retail companies engaged in this disgusting way of treating their customers.

    Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act

    “S40 Punishment for unlawful harassment of debtors.

      • harasses the other with demands for payment which, in respect of their frequency, or the manner or occasion of making any such demand, or of any threat or publicity by which any demand is accompanied, are calculated to subject him or members of his family or household to alarm, distress or humiliation;
      • falsely represents, in relation to the money claimed, that criminal proceedings lie for failure to pay it;
      • falsely represents himself to be authorised in some official capacity to claim or enforce payment; or
      • utters a document falsely represented by him to have some official character, or purporting to have some official character which he know it has not.

    Go for the harassment case against the retailer, a nice big fat payout might make other retailers think about kicking the leaches out

    Parked in a 'blue badge' bay today at the Metro Centre in Gateshead as its the only bays big enough to enable me to get the pram and the baby out of the car without damaging cars parked next to me. There were plenty of them and they dont do parent & child bays at all which is highly annoying for a shopping centre that big! Came back to car to find a £60 fine attached (£30 if paid within 14 days).

    Was told by the woman who hires wheelchairs out to said blue badge shoppers that I should find 2 empty normal bays next to each other if I didn't want to damage other cars!! The chances of finding that on a normal day are pretty slim never mind one so close to xmas and the sales!

    Looking at all the other replies, should I also ignore any letters I get or should I just pay the £30?

    No, you just ignore. By the way, this is not a FINE, it's an invoice which you don't have to pay.

    No,you should pay-just because you are different to everyone else.Everyone else should ignore as advised, but you should pay.
    Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

    Got a huge Buzz out of it.
  • Ive got something similar from a company called "Excel Parking", my gf was actually driving the car, it a car park for shops like argos etc, they have cameras up which snap your reg on way in, you can see who driving or anything on there though. they have dates and times... 60 quid, with threat of it jumping to 90, same thing going on about court etc... does the same apply? I dont want to end up paying loads more if it means i ignore them.

  • I've read a few of the posts covering how these 'tickets' aren't enforceable, but I'm curious, if I get a ticket for parking in a residents area what right do I have to just do that? If it's private property why am I allowed to just ignore that and park on someone else's property?

    Just wondering....
