I was a little naughty today and used some of next months pay (before I have got it) on buying a dress. Going out for a nice meal at Gaouchos tomorrow for my sister birthday, then we are going to have drinks at Oxo Tower. Am going to wear the dress tomorrow and is also a nice one that I can wear to work so hopefully will get lots of wear.

6 days till payday now, looking forward to it!
  • Oooo let me know what the Oxo Tower is like, i'd love to take my OH there for a meal (one day) but don't know anyone who's been. Its meant to be really nice so i read on the reviews online. Where did the dress come from? i'm looking for a nice dress to wear to a wedding reception at the weekend.

It was Miss Selfridge. I went into Topshop to get vouchers for my sister for her birthday and got distracted by dresses in Miss Selfridge.
  • I always end up doing that too, if only shopping wasn't so tempting.

The restaurant you are going to tonight is where my OH wants to take me next Friday for dinner, think he wanted to go to the Tower Bridge one because of the views. We were going to go this Friday but a job came in and he has to work lates tomorrow now, booo!

Have a lovely evening and enjoy your lovely meal later.

Yeah we went to the Tower bridge one, was lovely we had a good table with views of the bridge behind us. The food was lovely but we had a bit of a problem as we had arranged to meet people at oxo tower for cocktails after so we were pressed for time. We got left for ages with our desert menu and we were going to get desert but it took so long for them to get back to us we had to not have them. Then they tried to move us from the table which we think was because we weren't spending enough grrr. Apart from that though it was really nice and I would recommend it. I managed to stay within my budget too woo.

Not much news else where on money. Payday is in 4 days now... going home for the weekend hopefully doing a carboot so should be making money rather than spending it.

I have been sorting through my budget and put in what is going out etc next month. Is a bit of a tight month as have got a couple of big expenses, such as a theatre ticket and hair cut and colour. I am going to set myself a budget of 100 a week and take that out in cash and then use that for everything not in my budget which includes food, petrol and non essential spends. If I have any money at the end of the week then that will go in the next weeks 100. Hopefully will have some money left at the end of the month which will then go in OD fund. Will see how it goes anyway!

Sorry about all my rambles today! Just been trying to work out what will be easiest/best. New plan is that i will give myself 80 pounds a week. I will also pay ten a week into OD fund. I like doing the weekly payments as keeps me motivated. I am also going to keep a diary of what I am predicting to spend money on that week and what I actually do spend money on.
  • My OH wants a table with the views and seeing has he booked in well in advance i hope we get a nice table. I'm not a steak eater so he wasn't sure if i'd like it, but just had a looksy at the menu and spotted a few things i'd happily eat, it all looks lush tho. My OH budgeted £200 for the meal with a nice bottle of wine or two, hopefully that will be enough? I think thats A LOT for just a meal, but OH wants to celebrate so well worth it.

Your plan sounds like a good one, draw out what your happy to spend and you shouldn't go wrong, any left at the end is a bonus and go towards OD. I've been told not to take out cash as i always end up spending it in one day, but even if i didn't have cash i'd just stick it in the card, so either way i can't win

Have a lovely weekend back home, the weather is meant to be great so best time for a carboot before it starts getting cold, which i'm sure will do soon, however i'd love this weather to stay like this until the end of October :D

I think £200 will be plenty. Ours came to 120 ish for four of us but we only had mains and a bottle of wine, another glass of wine and 3 beers. I'm not a steak eater either, had the burger which was yum.
