Wendys Spend Less, Make More Diary

Hi Everyone,
Have been a bit of a lurker on here for a while and find it really useful and motivating to hear how well other people are doing.
I don't have a lot of debt and it is interest free so isn't too worrying but i would like to pay it off as well as still be able to emjoy myself and buy myself something nice every now and then. I finished uni this year and was very lucky to have a job to go to but it did mean me moving to London. I have borrowed money off my parents to pay for my flat (rented) deposit and also to buy a car.
I have been doing a few survey sites and just started doing the free scatch cards so am going to use any money that I get from these to start paying off my overdraft. My overdraft is interest free but i need to pay 250 off by July. I was thinking of putting all the money I make from surveys etc into my ISA and then use this to pay off my overdraft come June.
Anyway am going to use this diary to write down what I am spending on and also what I am making.

Good luck Wendy. I'm sure you'll do great
I've just started my own diary as I'm trying not to spend anything that I don't need to!
What survey sites have you signed up to out of interest? I'm looking to make a few extra £'s here and there
xxMarch 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -
Thanks, good luck to you as well!
I have signed up to globaltestmarket, toluna, ciao, valued opinions, which I have all been a member of for a while. I recenty joined lightspeed which is quite good and also I have a couple of others but they aren't very good.

Well today I have got an extra pound on my bingo site by logging on. Have done a couple of surveys as well.
Went out for drinks and food with work, paid for so thats ok. Have been good last week in terms of spending money.0 -
I am having a fairly productive day today so far I have
- Wrapped up last xmas present
-Cleaned kitchen sides and bathroom
-Hoovered and cleaned bedroom
I have also done a couple of surveys, actually made some money on ciao surveys which is amazing as seems to never accept me for any. Got 10p on scratchcard as well. Am only 100 points away from a voucher on pigsback, has taken so long!0 -
Well today so far I have done my scratchcards and got 30p which isn't bad, have got a couple of quid this week so if i keep going will get around a tenner a month which will be very good to throw at my overdraft,
Also did a valued opinions survey but didnt qualify, only a couple of quid away from a voucher on there so would be good to get one.
Spent about 4 quid yesterday at the shop buying lunch things for the next couple of days. Going to pop down shop today and get stuff for dinner, cheap as possible. I havent spent much this week which has been good and home from wednesday with the parents which will be cheaper.0 -
Well not doing too well on the making money, but am ticking along. Did two globaltestmarket surveys yesterday for 75 points each so getting towards another cheque there. Also slowly getting there on the free scratchcards. I expect there are less surveys with xmas coming up.
I got paid mondaya nd havent done too bad so far, paid for 30 pounds worth petrol which should last me a few weeks and got nectar point on it. I also paid for a ten pound voucher for an xmas pressie for bfs sisters bf , but bf will give me half money and bought a couple of xmas cards. Got a mcdonalds today but think as its xmas why not! Was very good a min ago and was looking at miss selfridge sale online and managed to cross the page so didnt buy anything.0 -
Hope everyone had a fab christmas. I really enjoyed mine, got lots of nice presents!
Haven't been to brilliant on the spending but could be worse. Went sale shopping and all i bought was a wraparound cardy from warehouse for twenty quid. Also went drinking and spent another twenty, oops! I have decided to give up drinking for jan, to a try and save money but also I am going on a new year diet so will help that.
I won 5 pounds on a free scratchy today yay, so got to withdraw my first ten pounds. I also got a cheque from a survey site for nearly 40 quid, more than i was expecting so that was great. Will be paying off that overdraft in no time.
Going to have a look round for books and things to sell today as am doing the jan make £10 a day challenge although only aiming for 5 pounds but if i could pay off 150 a month on my overdraft would take me less than a year to pay it off.0 -
Well after I thought I had done well on not spending seems I have been spending more than i thought, also got an unexpected electric bill. is between 3 but still rest of the month is going to be tight especially as I need to get the OH a birthday present.
Never mind! Just have to be very careful with what I am spending. I have also made two resolutions for the new year
- to not drink alcohol for whole of january
- to eat more healthy and try to lose a stone
Hopefully these two will help cut down on my money spending.
As for tha making money, I havent been able to find much to sell but have a couple of things so will try them. I have also done a couple of surveys and got an extra pound on the scratch cards today so that was good.0 -
Hello
Sounds like the surveys and scratchcards are going well. I havent got around to teh scratchcards yet. Have you seen the online spending diary http://www.spendingdiary.com/ ? It will help monitor those spends if you can keep it up. Maybe update when you do the daily surveys etc?
Good luck from another Wendy:j0 -
Hi! Just thought I'd check out your diary as you kindly posted on mine ...
Have you been onto any of the cashback sites? I am using Wepromiseto, but I know that Quidco is very popular. You can make money for switching electricity suppliers, opening a new bank account or getting free DVD trials. I had £108 pending after just two weeks.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
