Found one of the WH Smith 2005 AA Road Atlas (Black leatheretter, silver edges on pages)...unfortunately it was £9.99 ...which isn't exactly 49p but is still a fair reduction from it's original £24.99! 9the 2006 version is on the shelves at that price presently). I queried the staff & they said the price reduction can vary from store to store. I Think the OP got a fantastic bargain, but unlikely to be nailed by anyone else.

Lots of stationery and some bags reduced in Weston - got an "I understand I just don't care" diary for dd1 and 3 bags (plastic and sort of padded, swim bag size, but with normal handbag type strap, blue cheeky monkey and pink rabbit ones) reduced from £9.99 to £1.49 - hurrah!

Just got some great things all for only 99p in Coney street, York. Still some left, they're upstairs just before you enter for the board games on the left hand side.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Went in to WHSmith to find some box files, and they have flatpacked (Self assembly!) box files at 3 for £5.49, they are half price. Just to say they are actually really nice as the bottom and top are plastic, and they slide on and off the shelf easily!
They have loads of A4 lever arch files half price too.

Popped into Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow branch today and all clearance lines now reduced to 50p.

Got a Wallace and Gromit bank (originally £9.99), a Forever Friends cross stitch kit (£13.99) a Science Musuem Pedometer (£9.99) and various stationary sets all for £3.50.

They had loads of backpacks, stationary sets, picture frames, and folders amongst others.
