I saw these at Beckton this afternoon, and just thought they was "half marked price", as per the label.
Other than xmas wrap and tag stuff, there wasn't much of a variety of sale items - although they did have a large range of DVDs for £7.99, these were mainly old movies.0 -
Purchased cards
to the value of £5.99 for only 49pence and some cloth silver napkins and holders reduced from £10 to 49 pence in WH Smiths today.0 -
WH Smith in Peterborough had about 25 cross cut shredders in this morning, reduced from £30 to £15. I couldn't pay for one at the time because I was using one of those new fangled electronic gift tokens, and their system was down ( so much for technology ). They saved one for me, and when I went back to collect it, they only had 3 left on show. They are supposedly security level 4, and even allowing for a bit of exaggeration on Smiths part, they should be at least level 3, which is not bad for £15. According to the assistant, she THINKS ! they have more to put out.0

Nipped into WHS as only over the road from the bank and they had huge CLEARANCE signs up in the window. Was a bit disappointed with downstairs but stocked up on enough 49p-a-box Xmas cards to last me till I'm 40. The best bargain was upstairs in the book department.
Hidden away at the back, right in the corner, past inflated-price books on half price, in the map section (don't even know why I looked there really), they had some gorgeous road atlases. Leatherette bound AA ones - only thing is they were 2005 editions but hey, roads don't change all THAT much in one year. The price? £0.49. It doesn't tell you the original price on them (this - http://www.whsmith.co.uk/WHS/Go.asp?isbn=0749538171&DB=220&Menu=Books - suggests £14.99 but that's the 2003 one and this is 2005 - it is hardback) but given that the list price on a flimsy tacky looking paperback one is £6.99 [does anyone ever pay that???] I'd say I've grabbed a reet barg. In fact I've done more than that - I've bagged 6 reet bargs - every one off the shelf! They'll make fab Xmas/Birthday/Valentines gifts cos they look so classy and professional. Far rather have that in the door pocket than the Colins oversized technicolor(R) pile of gare you normally get.
