Mumzy, well done on passing! :j
Lynda, congratulations to you! :) it all sounds so romantic!

I've had the most lovely day with the guy - I think I'm falling for him! :o :smileyhea and he asked me what I'm doing for Valentine's Day, as he wants to plan something! How nice is that? I've never done anything for it before, so it'll be an exciting night :) He's just so kind and lovely to me, and he makes me feel really special - I can't stop smiling! :o

My Grandpa is out of hospital at the moment, but it looks like he'll be back there pretty soon if things don't get better, so its been an up and down day.

Big (((HUGS))) to those who want/need one.

Bails-Our very frugal wedding is happening next month on the 27th March...Going to have to start thinking about it seriously soon. We have venue/registrar booked. Going to a posh local pub (I hope) for reception. Only immediate family coming. Got a dress, now not sure about it...so might just pop in to Monsoon over Half Term and get one I like (don't want a wedding dress). OH just wants to wear a smart shirt, no tie. Mum wants to walk me in. Will get flowers on day. Maybe I should be worrying now..???

I got married a year and a half ago now. It was done in a bit of a hurry as DH was going to Afghanistan with work and wanted to make sure I would be okay for money if he did not come back. But he did:A .

We were only going to have me, DH, and 2 sisters as witnesses. He wore a suit that he already owned (he is like a tailor's dummy at the best of times, always immacualte), I got my dress from Monsoon (half price of course:cool: ), and sisters were wearing smart stuff, not bridesmaid stuff. No flowers or anything, I didn't want/need them. My parents knew about it and said, do what you like, he told his mum and all hell broke loose (we told her 2 days before the wedding). So instead of 4 people, there were 10 and our wee dog, he could not be left out. It was that last minute that everyone was going that my dad did not make it back from work. We had a photographer that I knew which was the biggest expense. It cost around £1000 all in, so I think that's pretty frugal for this day and age. And it was a really good day, despite his mum causing problems. We went for a meal in a Thai place, it was gorgeous (and 2 meals for 1):rotfl:

You can have a frugally perfect day SFT. I did!!:T

I did not see the point in having a big lavish wedding when we could not afford it and when we had been living together for 10 years anyway.

    Evening everyone,

I think the interview went well, they'll let me know tomorrow. The flight was delayed going down but on time coming back. I flew over the borders so gave Nyk and Janey a wave.:D

Birmingham Airport never runs smoothly for me, but it was better this time than last. Last year, I got diverted to East Midlands, then bussed back to Birmingham. Then I had to get to Cheltenham. Then on the way back, the flight was delayed for 6 hours and I got home at Midnight:eek:  .

I'm knackered, so off to bed, just as well, as tomorrow will arrive quicker.

    Nite nite. xx

    Congratulations, LyndaSharp and Mumzy!

hugs to SL and SFT (but congratulations to SL as well...)

It's been insane here, every different kind of weather. Sun, snow, rain, sleet...now it's snowing by bucketfuls....
:D the road has gone from wet and black to white in just a few minutes, that is amazing...

Feeling better now, thank you, so much better that I actually walked in the snow today. Well, I had to - it was the only way to get home from work....

UPdate: The ice-cream maker is all dried out but it's very, very VERY old and has no instructions. Have tried the person who gave it me (she's moved) and have tried the makers (you'd think they'd keep info on their past products but no, they can't help). Does anyone know how to use a Salton Gelateria model IC4? I think it's one of those where bits of it have to be frozen before use (could just pop it out in the garden under the snow...)
    but I don't really know.

Just catching up but thought I'd pop this in now before I lose your post, apologies if it's already been answered but is this what you're looking for?
    http://www.pickyourown.org/icecream/Salton%20Ice%20Cream%20Machine%20Model%20IC-4.pdf

It doesn't state Gelateria but the model number is the same. If it's not the one you might find it here http://www.pickyourown.org/icecreammakermanuals.htm

If not, it says you can request what you're looking for on the site.
    Good Luck

Oh, and I wasn't being a tease Marru, I meant he actually exists in the real world so we can quietly [strike]stalk him[/strike] track his movements (oh hang on, that is still stalking :p) and find out where he goes then 'accidentally' bump into him one day :D And for anyone who is wondering how this is possibly a frugal topic, I am simply trying to save Marru wasting money on dating sites ;) BTW, he really is very tall (made OH look short!) so that'll make a nice change eh? ;)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Bails, what would I do without you. I meant that you have seen him twice and I haven't managed to get a glimpse! And it is frugal - for someone having 8 animals being in good terms with a vet is always a bonus. ;)

After coming home today and leaving DD to have her snack while she was watching Ice Age on my comp and having my yoga and shower I crashed in DD's bed. The upside is that didn't need to put DD to bed as she came to snuggle up with me and fell asleep but the down side is that I slept as well and got up about half an hour ago and only now am having my supper.

Back to read rest of the posts, will edit this when caught up with you all...

...ok I am back 37 minutes and several pages later

Pipsmum: So sorry to hear about the car, I hope OH ok
Lynda: WOW Congratulations - that is fab!
Mumsy: Well done on the excam
    Nyk: Loved the bunny! Excellent!
Kittikins: Brilliant that you feel good about your budget
Sophiesmum: I hope the allotment will swing to your way soon
    SF: That is soooo lovely
SL: Hope you are getting good news soon
BB: Well done with all the organising!
SFT: Sounds like lovely wedding. If I ever get asked that would be something I would like to do.

And now my brain refuses to co-operate any further so anyone I forgot to mention just say THANK YOU for your lovely posts and have a lovely Wednesday!

    Night night,

    Marru

    Good morning everyone.
Lovely to hear all the romance in the air
Mumzy hope your neck is better. I had to have a disc out of my neck a few years ago and I will never forget the pain I had for the time before I eventually got the op.

In Search of Me sorry to see you go but if it's causing you a lot of grief then just pop in now and again. The Frugal door is always open...not very frugal in the winter :D

I didn't sleep much last night. Too much thinking I suppose.

I will have to go and see Mum today but will make use of diesel by attending meeting on the way to prepare for return to work next week. I have been off for 7 months so it is a bit nerve wracking.
Be nice to come off SSP.
But I have to go for a foot op very soon so will be off again but by then I will have qualified for sick pay which will help the budget :T

No reduced veg in the Co-op yesterday but I still managed to spend £5.85
I will check it out again today. I did buy some reduced fish and made kedgeree. I'm not really a fish eater but I got it for dinner guest who couldn't make it in the end
I don't suppose you can freeze kedgeree because it's got boiled eggs in it
