eeeee lots of exciting things going on there, sf!! good luck with everything :D I've done plenty of music exams in the past and have never had something I recognise for sight-singing - I'm pretty sure I would start laughing as soon as I recognised it! And I'm really excited for you about the new guy, keep us posted :D the early days are lovely.
Thanks! :) I was worrying about the sight reading as I'm not particularly good at it, but when I saw what it was, I did smile :rotfl: and I can't stop smiling re: new guy, its quite embarrassing really! :D

very envious of your spreadsheet. I know nothing about spreadsheets and wouldn't know where to start.
I'm envious of all these spreadsheets too! I can do simple ones, but nothing like that. xx

Been a productive weekend one way or another. The vege patch is almost ready, rabbit fencing up , just need the gate fixing in place, soil dug over severa times, some raised beds in, strawberries transplanted to new spot and some of raspberries in to. All seeds/sets etc ready and waiting to go in when the time is right. so going superbly.
Decided to try my hand at knitting and stsrted a jumper. I was taught years ago by my gran and lapsed as a teenager, so i do know how just very rusty. I have already done the back and not looking too bad so far (i can always wear it to keep warm in the house if all else fails and it looks naff!!).

Grocery shop figures looking good for January, need to finalise then i will post but i think it will be my lowest so far.

Will post figures soon but i have aLREADY banked £250 which would have just been frittered away on rubbish and i havent missed anything so feeling really chuffed, thanks for all your help so far.

Goodluck to all job hunters, congrats to job finders/ new mums etc, hugs to anyone needing one and kleep upp the good work every one else.
    bye for now

  • sorry forgot to mention- hubby bought me a breadmachine at the weekend. He saw it reduced to halfprice in argos and knew i was fancying one, isnt that sweet. But do you think i should count this in my budget? it came out of hubbys money not mine, what do you think. Never had one before so should have a bit of fun testing it out.
Also ordered some stuff on the internet for my pal(who doesnt have a credit card), she pays me imediatley and i order for her. Anyway to cut a long story short it was from T**co and double points and she doesnt use them so i have £83 of points to use in the future. whoowhoo.. not bad for two minutes work is it?.

Snow is just starting to melt here. Laid quite thick this morning and its meant to be getting worse again this afty. So with that in mind i popped out to mrT's to stock up on milk, yogs for ds, meat for sc plus fruit n veggies too. Spent just under £30 but that should be enough to see us through majority of feb now barring milk, bread and fruit (i hope).
Enjoy the snow while it lasts peeps:D

Yay!!I got my water bill today, and it was even cheaper than last time, so it has halved since I went on a meter:T :T :T and now works out at about £16 a month:T :T
Have been to farmfoods and got loads of stuff inc frozen chopped leeks for £1 in a big bag, which will be great for soup making:D :D It is very cheap in there for branded stuff too, but the freezer is packed now so hopefully that'll be it for this month:o :o

  • Hi Everyone!!
Well done to all who have done so well in January!! Great to read so much good news on the forum.
It has been snowing constantly here since yesterday and yet the Head of our school still decided to open. I live 10 min walk away so I went in. Still we had a great time with just 13 children making snowmen, throwing snowballs, noisy drama and music. Lunch was hot soup, french bread, sausages and chocolate sponge...we all really appreciated it. Never miss out on a free lunch. Finished early and not sure about whether we'll open tomorrow or not.
Lots of DDs went out of my account today. Am I right in thinking Council Tax is not charged Feb/March if you pay by direct debit?
Making a list of frugal achievements for the week to keep me nice and motivated.
Bit of sad news over the weekend..don't know if you heard about the oil tanker that crashed in Kenya. Lots of local people went to the road to collect free petrol then the petrol caught fire. Over 110 dead, including a social worker from my friend's orphanage and one little boy (who has really had a lot of sadness in his life) has been badly burnt and may not make it. Please help by sending positive thoughts his way (or a prayer if poss). Thanks..I'm really hoping for some positive news...Never really knew what my sealed pot money was for until now as his hospital bills will be very high.
    Thanks
