Nyk regrettably, metal detecting buddy is very happily married to a lovely lady!!
But....something may be in the pipeline. Just need to bide my time
Couldn't even begin to contemplate anything remotely serious at this stage in my life but someone to share a meal with will be nice.
Having reviewed my Jan budget, I have come in just about where I thought I would and should do better in February as I have built up my stockpile again.
Will be having frugal freezer fare for tea tonight and for the next couple of days.
Went to Co-op and bought some fresh fruit to ward off scurvy :rotfl: Have devoured huge bunch of grapes that was going to last me a few days but I would have hated them to shrivel and be inedible
Getting very cold here but no snow yet. Have put heating on but am making full use of heat by drying clothes and getting jobs done in house that are usually too cold to do normally.
I am trying to convince myself to clean the bathroom floor but my persuasive skills are not succeedding in dragging me away from the fire.0 -
sammey90 I do my budget almost like you except I am doing it in £1000 chunks so I get some extra (miserly) interest on the balance.
I find it makes me more disciplined.0 -
I would love to turn around and look out of window but i cant seem to have the corage to move my nck. I dont know what to do..it hurs so bad that i done no house work hardly and getting DS to pick up stuff up of floor for me. I dont even know how im going to make tea as cant bend down to get to the oven. Think its going to have to be beans and sausage (tin) on toast as its all at my level.
Just managed it: its snowing here again!
BAILS the staffy sounds adorabubble, I have 2 and they're sooo soft and lovely
Just had cheesy beans on toast for tea, as I can't be bothered cooking for myself today:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

My TV licence was 9.95 this month, usually 12 ish but the last mth is lower so must be about to start a new yr of tv..........
I am now sat on the other side of the living room typing. I decided that i want my under stairs cupboard as a larder type affair and have moved computer, cleaned under it - put dd house into store mode (one half lives inside the other) and will get it out daily for her and used a shelf from the front room that was for decoration in the cupboard. Front room looks better, more room in kitchen cupboards to hide toaster/slow cooker/steamer etc and get stuff off my sides.
Very please and now i have tons of room to stockpile stuff when it is on special) yay me. All in an hr or so. ds 2 was asleep ds1 playing xbox and dd at nannies tonight
DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debtsJust to see which month

:jWoohoo!! Very pleased with my challenge things today.:j
- Discovered I can get a Costco cash and carry card, great timing as I am wanting to start to stockpile loo rolls, toiletries and cleaning products as I said before. Need to sort out a few cupboards if I can get a chance in preparation for all my cheap goodies!!
- Made a bread and butter pudding out of past their best hot cross buns, would have just chucked them away before this challenge.
- Roast dinner from leftover Turkey from Christmas.

Ooh, just found out one of my good friends from uni is pregnant! :j I'm really happy for her as she's been longing to be a mum for ages but it wasn't the right time til now. I'm seeing her this weekend and my brother so it'll be a pregnancy fest (and yes, I'd still rather have the dog at mo
)
Made dinner and there's loads, only used 150g of the mince and same of lentils plus some mash from freezer :T Will be enough for another meal and some of the mince part left too for another day.
Just booked up to see a lecture about a guy cycling home from Siberia - I'd forgotten about this wilderness lecture series so am v excited :j£6 but it'll be worth it.
Thanks for the TV licence info, will def cancel my DD then and see what happens (as that should mean we're paid up til we go, if we go IYSWIM).
Have a lovely evening all, OH just back from ride so will spend some time with him x
ps sounds exciting Janey, remember to keep us updated

.....I love spending my money knowing it's helping the charity too - double bonus :T I'm keeping track of money spent like this or in charity shops as I had to cancel all my DDs when I gave up work and this way I still feel I'm making a useful contribution (along with clothing etc donations). Charity shops are crying out for stock at the mo if you need an incentive to declutter
Just saw your plea for the charity shops but wondered whether you are north, south east or west - down where I am the shops seem to be chock full and not really desperate or interested. Even had a charity bag through the door this week to leave out - I filled it up and left out nice and early for collection but it was still sat by the gate later in the day so now I will just take it to the charity bins instead.0
