Well done Kittikins and Skint-chic for (between you) reducing debts, getting slow cooker, getting cashback and saving on insurance, true frugalisation at work there! :T
I've spent afternoon in the kitchen with Gerry Rafferty for company and it makes such a difference with space to move about the place! I thought 'Baker Street' was an apt album to choose for background singalong music. :rotfl: I now have 2 pastry cases ready for ham quiche (changed mind from ham & mushroom pies), a chocolate cake (complete with Betty Cr0cker's butter icing), one large chicken & mushroom pie (for freezer) one extra deep chicken & veggie pie baked with puff pastry, an apple crumble and a large cob loaf topped with seed mix. It's bee a very productive afternoon and I haven't had to spend any money as it was all from store cupboard and left overs! :TI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

DS2 has had 2 expensive badminton rackets stolen at school today. One of them was mine and a birthday present. The teacher was very helpful and will be looking at CCTV on Monday and I will have to report it to the police then. Any idea what an insurance company would say as they were left in a changing room unattended?0 -
my insurance company wouldn't cover them full-stop -- if I want cover for anything away from the home I have to pay an extra (hefty) premiumCheryl0

Sorry to read about the badminton rackets, the_cat, that's awful! I'm not sure what happens about insurance in schools, but I'd have thought it was their responsibility to ensure places like changing rooms were safe and secure? I would report it to the police asap if they are expensive rackets, why wait until Monday? I'd think you'd be able to get back in contact with them to cancel the report if the rackets mysteriously 'turn up' back at the school by Monday once news gets round that the police are involved. Good luck, I hope you get them back.I reserve the right not to spend.

Nyk - I was going to wait until Monday as teacher wants to check with other staff that they haven't put them somewhere safe etc. Not so sure now.....0

Getting ready for the forecast wintry weather. Have lots of food and plenty of oil so should be OK.
Feeling a bit sorry for myself this evening
Really really need a hug ...and not from a lady frugalite...IYKWIM.
Feel disloyal to DH and should be more under control but have had half a glass of wine which is more than enough on an empty stomach :embarasse
I am a bad bad Janey and should be settling down with my knitting to watch Eastenders with a cup of Horlicks but it isn't going to do the trick tonight.
Anybody got a really nice unattached Frugal person who would like a meal and a glass of wine :blushing:0 -

Nyk - Hope you stay safe, warm and dry in the dreadful weather
Janey - I know you don't want a hug but I will give you one anyway (((HUG)))
Congratulations and commiserations to those who need them. Sorry, I have a brain like a sieve.
£7.50 CB from Blockbuster tracked todayHave got to ring Equifax to verify my address, so not sure if that will track properly.
Listed 5 items on Ebay...I really hope they sell.
Had a NSD - was going to pay council tax etc, but decided to leave it until tomorrow. I was also going to purchase this slow cooker but have decided to leave that until tomorrow as well to keep today as a NSD
Anyway, in great news - I have managed to *reduce* my electricity consumption. Simply by turning my lappy OFF during the day when I am at work and OFF during the night when I am asleep. I have really noticed the difference in my electric usage, mostly because I actually have electric left at the end of the week and am not far into my emergency
Right, off to watch the 1st of my DVDs from Blockbuster...We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
