    I'm really on track but haven't bought much other than raiding the supermarkets. If I can stay out of them or go into them with my purse (cash only) a lot lighter I may be able to do better in February.

    I'm still as keen as I was on the 1st January. I hope I feel the same way through to December 31st.

    Good morning frunchkins:D

    Feeling much better today and full of beans for the weekend:j :j , off to town this morning with friend, will be looking for some bargains at market in veggie line, but other than that only need black bin bags so should be a low spend day:D
    Doing well with challenge but think that is because it has become second nature now after a year;)

    General frugal aims for today;
    • storecupboard lunch and tea
    • reduce, reuse,recycle one item- recycle some bottles and paper at recycle point
    • do something nice for me -new mascara with boots points - only use it about twice a year but felt like a treat;)
    • do something nice for someone else - take friend to town
    • do one thing just for fun - go for swim , jacuzzi and sauna
    • fitter not fatter - swimming
    • try and decide what to make with the pebbles on mesh that my mum has bought me. Squares of gauze with pebbles attached - may use to top the cupboard in bathroom - will need to get some grout/glue first.
    Todays frugal meals;
    • use last of HM bread for toast with some HM rhubarb jam from summer, OJ
    • HM carrot and lentil soup from freezer
    • Hm salmon fishcakes,cous cous and mixed salad
    Fruit and veg portions;
    1 fruit, 1 pulses,3 veggies,:D

    Expenditure :o or additional income
    Spent £6.3
    Bin bags 77p
    Carrier bag of salad stuff and veggies from market £2.50
    £1.12 nail polish from boots - after £5 off voucher from friend :)
    4 x packs supernoodles for DD £1 in morissons
    99p on easter baskets in charity shop

    Remaining target cash for first 6 months food spends - £256.84 left from budget of £400 for first six months.
    Reduce,re-use, recycle.

    Morning SM:) and all who follow!

    Went to Matalan to buy new school trousers for DS1 and hairbands for DD. Spent 14.68. The trousers dont fit so will have to take them back next week. have put them into budget though and when I have got new pair and refund will update spreadsheet. Also dished out pocket money yesterday afternoon:eek: £8.89!!!

    Have updated total spent in signature....

    Total Allowance for January: £591.60
    Total Spent so far: £534.43

    Available to spend in January: £57.17

    8 days to go, although I wont be spending anything today or tomorrow. I know I will go over when I have paid out Gas/Electric and Sky DD's next week. But Im not overly worried, as Ive said, I have stockpiled a lot this month and cant actually fit anything else in freezer!:)

    Have done meter readings on imeasure this morning. Both my gas and electricity usage have gone down this week:D Very happy about this! Will be aiming to bring it down further again in this coming week!

    Have a great day all!
    November NSD's - 7
  • yesterday 8.30am was the end of week 2 on taking my daily gas and electric readings and i managed to reduce loads. New telly came via home insurance (i knocked the 42" tv off the stand and smashed it oops - thank god for insurance) and they have replaced it with a 46" better one :) - just gonna see at 8.30 how much electric it uses compared to the cr*p telly we borrowed.

    I am on target this mth - 666 is the max and i have spent 580 with a food shop due wed and 100 for the car! So that will not be there next mth thank heavens! Overall am doing very well. Have stockpiled a tone of food so feb will be low low low. Living on 8k so far is not hard at all.......... and hubby n kids love having homecooked dinners every night :)
    DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debts :) Just to see which month :))))

    Hello,

    Ok you are welcome to give me a virtual slap but I have extended my car hire. It just takes such a huge preassure off me that it is worth every penny. And they promised that if I get my car sorted earlier then I can get a refund for the remaining days.

    But on the positive note went to Mr S (DD needed a toilet) and came out only with two bags of hot cross buns (bogof :p).

    Will post properly in the evening if I have any energy left. Have a great day everyone!

    Morning everyone, this is a first for me, posting before evening :D . Yesterday I made a rocky road traybake. It didn't quite turn out how it should have :o . The bottom was soft, the middle was too runny and the topping went wrong, but I perceived and everyone loved it, it's a sick as anything though. If I make it again I'll leave the middle out and change the topping to just melted chocolate.

    It's a NSD for me, just trying to catch up on housework and I really must try and put some things on Amazon or ebay.

    I noticed the site looked different yesterday, but seems to have gone back to normal :confused:

    Have a great day, may post back later :j

    Had a trip to town with my friend,we had our usual free coffee in macdonalds using loyalty cards. Saw a set of 5 new little easter baskets in charity shop for 99p so snapped them up for easter gift making. Went to Boots where I treated myself to a new mascara using some of my points, then friend gave me her No7 voucher so picked up another nail polish towards xmas for £1.12:D , topped up DS' phone for him so more points for me:D

    Got a carrier bag full of veggies, squash, cabbage, salad stuff, from market for £2.50:D took friend to m's to pick up her shopping and I picked up 4 packs of supernoodles for DD for £1 and bin bags 77p - so my total spend this morning has been £6.38.
