My money is just sitting there. *pokes money in case it died*
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I love it Zelie!
Marru, don't worry, the bad back/stomach came on Saturday afternoon so nothing you did last night.
Bizarrely found a £60 payment in my account last night - anyone else had one of these from benefits and can tell me what it's for?ie do I get to keep it? :rotfl:
Had our WTC backdated to the right date, so an extra £200+ for me - a good day moneywise! :T
Off to a lesson in a minute - would really rather not but it's exam week so can't let them down. I just hope my long soak in the bath will tide me over.
CW, I know what you mean but as an example - I posted for some WW1 booklets the Guardian was running over a week, thinking I could hopefully get a complete set from several people (MiL couldn't quite keep a whole set even though she gets the G delivered ). Not only did I get replies from several different people, two of them offered to collect the whole set for me and post them to me if needed :T:T Another guy worked in a newsagent so he kept copies from the unsold newspapers so I had loads of some of the booklets. Always worth a shot, Freecycle.
Off I go, laters peeps x
ps SL, I agree (also the reason I split up with finance who knew nothing about fiance - pun intended). In some cultures, money doesn't exist, how cool is that? And in a culture in Papua New Guinea I think it was, they had these MASSVIE round stones which were their 'money' - noone could move them so they just changed hands without going anywhere
There are people even in this country who manage without money or try to use it as little as possible - no, not scroungers; definitely some things to learn from them. I'm looking forward to getting back from India and joining a skillshare scheme, they make such great sense to me :T

OK, seeing my dead money gave me the impetus to go and do my accounts for the month and to allocate payment from future month's budgets that I have stocked up on now. I was a bit nervous about doing that but I'm pleased with how it's turning out. I haven't subtracted things like internet/phone yet but will do so at the appropriate time. Even with that I think I'm well within budget for this month. Which is just as well cos I've got FOUR birthdays to buy for next month! :eek:0

Afternoon peeps,
not having a bad day so far. I've not had the nsd i wanted but had £108 backpayment from wtc paid into my bank:j , made my final cc payment:j and got some bargains at asda. I've also managed to pick up a few bits to re-vamp my front room - OH was given a £50 voucher for xmas and b&q was the only place near us where we could spend it. OH was not amused, but i was v pleased as i've managed to get all the paint and a funky border to re-do room and best of all its cost nothing:D.
Hoping to get myself a slow cooker tomoro for free - all of your talk about them has got me thinking again. I was gonna treat myself before xmas but i couldnt justify spending money on one (we were super skint at the time). My nana's friend has a 6ltr one and has never used it and she said she would ask her if i could have it.
De-cluttering went well too. I've managed to fill 2lge black sacks full of old clothes and shoes ready for charity shop. Still have another wardrobe to sort and shelves in my dining room, they will be getting done at the weekend:cool:
Todays plan......- pay final cc payment - only loan left now:D
- put little uns clothes away
- quick tidy in bedrooms
- quick tidy in kitchen and dining room
B- had at my mums
L- mac cheese
T- not sure yet, me and OH will consult meal list later n see what we fancy

Been flyladying and noticed that that thread also has a chatter embargo on it, but they mentioned they had a group on FB and I wonder if that would also be possible for the £4k challenge group??19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -

Afternoon All:j
Just spend ages catching up on all the posts over the weekend!! I did fairly well over the weekend. Out for lunch with the girls on Saturday, but had a 50% off voucher for the restaurant, so it only cost me £11! Thankfully the weather broke on Sunday so was able to get down to my allotment for the first time and clear some of the rubbish. Have had no replies from my ad on freecycle for tools, so will have to bite the bullet and buy some if I don't hear anything.
Gonna see what whoopsies I can get tonite and then do a meal plan for the rest of the month, I don't want to spend any more money after that! I've nearly hit £200 spent already this month and it's only the 12th! I'm seriously tempted to start 'freeganing', so might check out the back of the supermarket tonite:rotfl: !

Since I have a few minutes home alone before DD gets back, I'll use them to post on this thread - it usually takes me all my time to catch up with reading the posts!!
I went shopping with DD yesterday and am really happy because she didn't talk me into buying anything for her (she needs nothing she just loves clothes and shoes and make up, etc...), and I found a great pair of boots in the sales (£74.99 reduced to £22.50) to replace mine as they are falling to pieces.
I've decided I'm going to get some meal planning organised but I'm suffering from my usual January lethargy at the moment so it may take a little whilebut in the long run it should make things easier for me especially as DD is sooooooooooooo fussy about food!
