    Afternoon peeps,
so far my day has not been to bad, most jobs on my to do list are complete, just my wii fit to do (i'll do it later i promise:p ).
Not had chance to catch up from this mornigns posts - will do that later once DS is tucked up in bed.
My mum has just said she can only take me shopping today or end of next week so i've decided to go today or i'll end doing loads of little shops and end up spending a fortune. I've just finished writting a list of meals to last us 20 days starting tomoro and made my shopping list based on that. Providing i've checked everything properly i should only need milk and bread till the end of the month. I reckon i'll spend about £50ish including a few bits of household stuff, toiletries etc...I'm trying to stockpile a few bits n bobs while i still have space. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for any reduced bargains too. I never get bargains normally no matter how hard i look, then i see loads of people walking round with loads of ys stuff:confused:.

sm - sorry to hear about the chickens total bummer.

Catch up with you all later

SM -really sorry about the chickens, what a load of tosh H&S can be :( Hope the allotment idea comes through instead; I'd be reluctant to give up a flat where you don't pay utility bills and you have zero commute, but can also see the desire for privacy and for being able to do what the heck you want when you want to.

Wish me luck please everyone - I've just returned to the office after zipping home to tidy up a bit (ok, a lot) for my first viewing of the year - it was messier in places I'd forgotten and not as bad in the places I was worried about (the agent gave me an hour's notice, good job I work about 10 mins drive from home - phew!). The house has got to sell soon, I want to move nearer my mum and dad so they can help out with DD and I can help them when my mum's ill.

Ex OH has decided he'd like to see DD tonight so I'll be mooching around Asda for an hour or so, trying not to spend money on rubbish. can't think of anything else to do on a cold, wintry, Tuesday night - not least because I have to get back for 9pm latest. Grrr. Ex OHs are such a pain in the posterior :(

Anyway, have had another cheat NSD so far today, just my 30p Sun, really not my kind of paper, I'll be glad when the 10 days are up. I prefer to read newspapers online, darned sight cheaper too!

Sorry to hear about your chicken Sm, know you were looking forward to getting them. Hope you can get something put in place.

Sounds like everyone has had busy days one again.

I picked up my bike from freecycle today so that will slowly begin to help with petrol costs. Am also hoping for a nsd today, although i have to go to my second job later, but shouldn't need to go to the shops.

    Hello one and all !

Just got back from a lovely day out with DS (school trip) and although we were outside ALL day and it was freezzzziiinnnggg  .... a good time was had by all (and it was a free day out for me too:p ).

Got a beef stew out of the freezer that I did before Xmas and put it in the slow cooker this morning, just got to pop in and do dumplings now. Think I might have to invest 15 mins of my time sorting an apple crumble for dessert ..... hmm ...... or shall we have jam rolly polly (decisions, decisions ! :D )

Today has more or less been a NSD (DS had £2 to spend in the shop on his school trip).

Tomorrow should be one too as I'm off shopping for work (I can claim bus fare back this time as expenses! lol)

Not sure about Thurs yet, will see how the packed lunch bits and bobs last (kids being really good and having fruit as a snack when they get home from school instead of their pack up bits :A ).

I think that's it for now so have a good evening everyone ..... i've booked the bathroom later for a nice long HOT soak as I'm chilled to the bone after today and can't seem to get warm :snow_grin

Edit: Sorry, just read about the chickens SM ....... that's really disappointing for you ..... think the allotment (as others have said) might be the way to go but make sure you ask before you put your name down as some sites don't allow them (ours included !)

    :hello: everyone!

I was at work for 5 hours today, so that's a few more pennies in the pot. It was so boring today, as there was no-one around in town at all. Its just far too cold, and the bakery was even freezing so it wasn't too fun! :)

Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend from uni for the day and we'll go shopping which will be fun :) So it definitely won't be a nsd ;) and I may even treat myself to a Starbucks coffee! We'll see how the day goes

Today was a NSD as I am not going anywhere else this evening, its far too cold. I'm currently wrapped up in a huge jumper and am thinking about getting another pair of wooly socks!

sophiesmum, thats rubbish about the chickens. (((HUGS))) to you xx

    sf xx

  • Ebay is a piece of cake, before you start take a look at other auction listings to get a feel for it.

There are places you can go for a free template, free picture hosting etc etc.

Take a look at the pricing too.

Any problems, I'd be happy to help. (Did ebay for about 5 years)
Just realised that the charity already has an account so i guess it would be photos and listings that i would be in charge of as well as posting of course

This appeals to me as is flexible and could be done from home but doesn't really get me mixing in the " real world" community but will be interesting as a first venture into volunteering

No cooking tonight well a h/m frozen pizza for son and leftover curry for hubby and nothing for me as still full from lunch out

I must do some ironing tonight and tomorrow will be a coursework day
i also took down the decorations today so christmas is officially over here

(((hugs))) for SM -- and anyone else who needs/wants one

Have been to town today !! Wanted to get some photos printed for a scrapbook album I'm doing. I'm using photos DH took out walking, but he never used a digi-camera and didn't keep negatives (which my machine would have scanned!), so I had to scan in the original photos. My printer then didn't keep the colours very true, so I decided to splash out for once -- helped by a £2 off printing coupon I was given on my last visit to B00ts :T

Our W00lies was still open today, so I nipped in and grabbed a 'few' bits. Got a couple of books and DVDs with childminding in mind, a few CDs for me (different music styles to my normal collection, but cheap enough to have a change), some chocolate (:o , but at 26p for a 200g bar I couldn't leave them there!), and some plastic coathangers (17p for 10) for when I start sorting out all my garments that are strewn everywhere. Best bargain in there was some T-shirts for my GDs (to be kept here for 'emergency after school attire') -- packs of 3 that were priced to go through the till at 60p, but went through at 30p :T

However, I think my best bargain of the day was in B$M. They had a couple of sized tins of grapefruit segment in juice -- which is something I love. The 1200g (ish) tins were 79p, but the 3kg tins (bbe Dec '08) were 49p !!!!! Brought home one of the 3kg tins, so that's my breakfasts for the next week sorted out......

    Afternoon everyone

SM - sorry about the chicken news, that's so annoying:mad: Health and safety have a lot to answer for don't they.

Not spent anything yet today but will go for fruit/bread at whoopsie time and see what I can get. Not had any problems yet with pushy types in our local stores, so fingers crossed. Bit cheeky but I'm going to try and take back a fitted sheet to MrS that I bought a while ago as well. Can't find receipt though so I'm not sure if they will let me:confused:

:T :T MY BIG NEWS - just had an email saying I have won an IPOD touch in a competition. DS1 has been after one for a while, so I can put it away for his birthday once it arrives:T :T Will be a big chunk towards money neutral for gifts as I've just looked at the price of them - £160:eek:

    Mega bargain in the Co-op whoopsie section...3 litres semi-skimmed for 50p :j
But my freezer is so full I can only fit 2 pts in and the sell by date is today.
I know it will be OK for a couple of days but has anyone tried freezing rice pudding

I could cook a big batch tomorrow and hopefully try and make a bit of freezer space by the time I need to freeze it. Plus it will keep in the fridge for a day or so.
Maybe it wasn't such a bargain :o :rotfl:
