:( Am upset now as I only want £8 worth of things from the appr0ved f00d site and the £5.25 delivery charge makes it uneconomical.

going to go and sob into my hot chocolate....

Thats exactly the same situation I find myself in with Approved Foods the cost of delivery is nearly as much as the items I want. Oh well by not ordering I suppose I have saved myself some money :D , I will just have to go without.

  • Sorry, I know it's slightly off topic...but does anyone else use rpoints for cashback? They seem to be really dragging their heels with me at the moment. Put in a claim on 21st October for £30 cashback for a car insurance policy that didn't track and they've just come back to me and said it's been rejected. rubbish. Is anyone else having a problem?

where u at Lollypop cos that sounds a bit like a monopoly going on if u ask me.

I reckon Mr T are going to feel the pinch with Wally backed Asda anyway. I need to read my latest Food mag to see what's what me thinks. It's sitting on my desk at work so I'll ave a shufty on Monday.

Even if you use your clubcard Asda works out to be cheaper in my estimation.

I know that many people are going to be affected (staff) by the crunch at Mr T's but I can't help thinking they need to be taught a big fat lesson.

Sorry in advance if I've offended anyone but I don't want to end up in Tesco - World

edited, I didin't want anyone to think I want the staff at Mr T's to be taught a lesson, no it's the brand itself.

Not sure I want to end up in Asda World either!

I am really not a fan of Tesco and Asda. These one stop stops where you can get your groceries, cards, cds, clothes, tvs, appliances, etc ... and even morgages and bank accounts these days.

In our town centre over the past few years, one little independent shop after another has gone out of business due to these out of town monsrosities. I know sometimes people have little other choice but to shop at them due to their location/budgets/little else choice being available in their area but I personally find visiting them an utterly souless experience and I try to avoid it as much as possible

Finally caught up on the last 12 pages! :j

I went to Mr. T's today and spent £59 but I did stockpile on the Branston Beans, teabags (Tesco own 99p for 80) and bought sanitary bits in the reduced aisle for 85p. I also had to put petrol in the car which came to £37 but that doesn't come out of my budget, it's an essential for me as I have to get DS to childminders and me to work with it. Anyway, as I was getting back into my car I spotted a receipt on the floor, I picked it up and the 55 points hadn't been collected so I'll get them next time I pop in. I use my vouchers on day's out with DS so it's worth it. :T

Got the inlaws coming for dinner tomorrow, doing a nice roast but asked them to bring pudding :D

No doubt it will take me another hour and half tomorrow to catch up on the posts :rotfl:

Ooh changed the prescription at the chemist today so I'm starting my tablets tomorrow :j

I rarely visit if I can help it and find that the frugalish lifestyle lends itself easily to using local shops for 90% of the weekly shop.

My DD might make the odd post for me
  • I have been inspired by posts on here today and am still busy long after bedtime:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Working out my all-in budget, I think i can totally pay off my credit card by the end of the year (assuming the mortgage doesn't go back up too steeply - had a letter today telling me of the reduced payment starting in February, that will be the 3rd reduction since mid November. Since i hardly have any savings (that will be addressed once cc paid off) it suits me fine if interest rates are low for a while, and it can be done without tightening the belt more than i had already intended iyswim.
