Morning everyone
Hopefully will have a frugal day today. Got very excited last night when MIL gave me a new jar of very nice Mustard - it will give a boost to menus, free food, can't turn it down!
Will be cooking today for next weeks meals and might put a loaf on too.
Today I will:- write thankyou notes
- finish washing/ironing
- planning for school and tutoring
- walk dog for HHE at around 4pm

where u at Lollypop cos that sounds a bit like a monopoly going on if u ask me.
I reckon Mr T are going to feel the pinch with Wally backed Asda anyway. I need to read my latest Food mag to see what's what me thinks. It's sitting on my desk at work so I'll ave a shufty on Monday.
Even if you use your clubcard Asda works out to be cheaper in my estimation.
I know that many people are going to be affected (staff) by the crunch at Mr T's but I can't help thinking they need to be taught a big fat lesson.
Sorry in advance if I've offended anyone but I don't want to end up in Tesco - World
edited, I didin't want anyone to think I want the staff at Mr T's to be taught a lesson, no it's the brand itself.
I'm in Cambridgeshire Kittie. There is definitely a Tescopoly going on here. DH was in Mr Ts on Tues 23rd Dec and he overheard some staff talking. On the Mon and Tues that week they had taken in £750,000! £50k of that was from the tobacco counter. They really have this town stitched up as a lot of people can't afford to shop at Waitrose (we try to whenever possible as I like their ethical stance but we can't afford big shops there).~ Lexie ~The Minimoilist.Saving money and the planet at the same time.0 -

Thats how I feel about Tesco too which is why I get my Asda deliveries! Asda a bit far for me to travel so having it delivered works well. I do like Waitrose too and have got some bargains there but couldnt do a whole shop there.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
I have started a Original price v's Sale price document, so that at the end of the year I can see what I have saved. Must remember to keep filling it in. Can also use it for whoppsi shopping not just sale sales...lol.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

Shelley, the pork joints were the frozen Xmas ones (with crackling and stuffing I think from memory). Original price was £9.50 but I paid £4.75. They say on the packet feeds 8 - 10 so don't think they're the same ones that you've got.
Lol, I've just realised how many this joint is supposed to feed - I didn't realise it was 8 - 10 !! :rotfl: Oh well, be having it in sandwiches tomorrow too for pack up then
Right, i'm off to re-do our garden/allotment plan ..... see you in a month (joke !)
Edit: I've just read about Mr T's monopolising Cambridge and have to say I did think that was the case (used to live there), they're opening a new one on the Clifton Road shopping area aren't they - where the old Choices music/dvd shop used to be?
Glad to hear they didn't get the go-ahead for Mill Road though.
I also think (my own opinion) that Mr T's has scuppered Asda's plans to open a store in Bognor Regis (maybe JamieDodger might know more about this?) ...... seems funny that they didn't even get past the first hurdle .... I know I'd have definitely gone there for my shopping instead of Mr T's or S'bury !:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
As I was boiling my mince and frying all my onions prior to freezing, a thought occurred to me.
How do you manage your inventories?
I made one up last year then forgot to tick off when I used stuff, so I just wondered how everyone did there's as I really need to do one so I can keep tabs on what I'm using.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

Morning all -its still snowing here
Penny2myName.... I have set my spread sheet up so I can put the full price in and the Woopsed price too... makes me feel better to see how much it "should cost" ...Im also going to highlight any items I class as "non essentials" -should I buy any..such as hubbies peanuts etc -to see what goes there.. although hubby has told me not to ask "do you want anything?" when shopping -apparently he only wants things if I ask him -so I won't :rotfl:
Just nipped to the NAAFI as I saw the topside beef joints had the 5th on them..I got the last one :j .... should have been €39  .. I got it for €13..still quite a bit -but its a 3 kilo topside so once its cooked (its in allready) ...It will slice and freeze into loads of meals for us
The pork I got whoopsed yesterday has been carved ..I have left enough out for today and then there are 5 more generous servings wrapped in foil -so they can just drop in the remoska when needed .. I also put a dollop of the jelly from the dripping it made in each package -so when it re-heats it will stay lovely n moist-Not bad 6 meals for 2 for €3
the roasties are in the other remoska as I type and I am doing extra mashed potato n swede, carrots and peas to bubble n squeak tomorrow ..
Im now on my 4th xmas pressie -so that is my mission today ....
must go and add to my signature ..have a great day everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
