    Afternoon all,
I've just taken my daughters into town and took the oportunity to put deisel in the car. I'm hoping that will do for the month.
My girls also gave me 'petrol' money for taking them into town. £1 each so £3 in total.
My total is starting to creep up..oh well.
I've got some money in paypal from surveys and I'm currently watching a copy of delia's Frugal Food on ebay. Its at £1.99 at the moment with £5 postage. I've got £12 so thats my limit. I've also got almost enough ipoints to get it through there so I'll have to wait and see.
Of course maybe I should leave the money and points for presents this year? It is last years budget, though, so I don't feel too bad.

Does anyone know a good, cheap place to buy nice bathrobes? And CD players..trying to get ahead for birthday's in March???
Primark have some lovely bathrobes and Pj's and very reasonable too, look lovely. CD players check out asda /tesco as well as usual places they have some cheap electricl items and good guarantees.

    It would seem not...oh well.
My nearest is Stoke on Trent, it seems. Perhaps I can double up with a MS or something...

I second primark for bathrobes, I have a lovely soft housecoat from there which has worn pretty well for primark. Also, you might like to have a look at this Frankie M : http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10051_148224_100_500020__category_

A quick search and you should be able to find a free postage code :). If you can't let me know, I put a book people catalogue in our recycling earlier & they usually send out the free codes with them.
    Finally bought a home

  • Kittikins - Sorry to hear your £5.95 man didn't work out. I definitely agree with the stop looking for a man approach. My mum told me after my last disastrous breakup that if you don't love yourself then you can't expect others to see your potential as a partner. You have to believe you are worth having a relationship with and you need something to bring to a relationship - if you have plenty of interests, friends, and activities keeping you busy you don't need a man to fill your life. Then one will come along just when you realise you don't even need a man! And she was right (they always are!) and I'm now married to a lovely man who treats me well

Resisted temptation to buy lunch when I was out fixing my friend's heating and made myself rice with a little korma sauce from the back of my storecupboard. It's quite difficult not going to the shops esp the supermarket - it's what I usually do with my weekend but I don't NEED anything and I want to be able to pay £500 off my mortgage next month. I've cleared my credit cards and paid £3700 off my loan and now I want to use my savings from this challenge to tackle my huge mortgage. And give me a better quality of life. Have paid £2000 of overpayments in the last year and aiming to match that this year plus get loan repaid in full.

Thank you everyone, I'm sitting here feeling much chirpier now about the whole dating thing, I love the idea of having struck someone off the not right list :)

DD and I had a great time at the play place, friend bought her own coffee, which I did offer to get but she said no :) Have only spent 60p today on getting The Sun for the holiday token, sure you only used to have to buy 4 or 5 papers, now they want 10. Grrr.....but still will be a lot cheaper than the cottage we rented last year, so mustn't grumble!

Was good as well, set a small loaf of bread in the breadmaker to cook whilst we were out, took snacks and a bottle of water with us.

My dad came down to fix something for me yesterday and brought me frozen scrummy leftovers from a meal I'd cooked for parents when we went up for Christmas, my mum won't reheat Quorn dishes for some reason, I do, hasn't killed us yet :) So dinner is sorted, and I can read MSE and avoid housework to my heart's content!

Mrs M - wow on the weightloss, you're an inspiration to this lardy gal who's going to try and emulate your success, both in weightloss and in veg gardening this year.

In fact, think it's time I went off to the gardening forum to read up a bit more, digging the patch I want to use can wait for a slightly warmer day though, don't want to go overboard though..... :)

Today has been a spend day for me, but its only been the direct debits that have gone out. We are having to pay £27 each month at the mo for tv licence, but it will drop soon, also my direct debit for gas and elec went out today. I will pay the amount each month and then towards the year i will work out if i have any left over in my account and take the amount off the amount paid. Makes sense to me!!

Still not left the house so not doing too badly, have used up out of date yoghurt for brekkie and had left overs for lunch, so all helping with the grocery budget.

Have several mystery shops lined up for tomorrow including free lunch and some free shopping, so every little bit is helping. Will see if i can resist the sales whilst i am out!!

I have also been sorting out lots of things to do when i go to London in March. I am using my clubcard vouchers so will get free entry courteousy of the vouchers, into London Zoo, on a river cruise and to see the Shakespeare globe theatre. We got a cheap room from travel lodge and i have some food vouchers from p-cone, so it will be cheap trip and not affect my budget too much! Am really chuffed!
