My friend has lost 13stone 4 pound with Lighter Life. She has done it in less than a year. She has been left with very baggy skin that she is having to have removed with surgery. Because of her size before I think maybe she would still have had excess skin but not quite so much. She feels and looks great though so it was obviously the right decision for her. I need to lose weight but don't think I could feel healthy on so little calories.

so as most people agree HH slower the better then u should be safe from the sags!!
no i couldnt do lighterlife myself (tho i know it works for some), the problem is any diet has to be a change of eating for life because as soon as u go back to eating 'normally' u will gain.. after all it was the eating that way that made u fat in the first place
as my sig says i do atkins and really enjoy my food, i did initially lose on SW but got fed up with it and started gaining, that hasnt happened with atkins as i have pretty much maintained for 3 yrs now
good luck in yr weightloss

I've lost over 3stone, and still got a bit left to go, and my stomach is wrinkly! I have had a baby though, so that obviously stretches you out and leaves your belly looking a bit worse for wear! No sign of saggage on it yet though, fingers crossed! I use bio oil and I've noticed it's faded my stretchmarks. Nice smell too.0

To be honest i did lighterlife with my mum, step dad and step sister, i think its a big shock to the body to stop having as much food and calories. I started cheating after the first week and binging on stuff i wouldn't go and eat all the time (maccies, chocolate, crisps) i hid them from the rest of them i even went to Subway!!!
I really wouldn't recommed it to anyone yeah you lose the weight fast but i guarantee you will put it back on all of us have and more besides!
Its about changing your eating the way you cook stuff ect ect

Steph - well done for being so honest!
Your last line is THE answer to the whole weight loss debate. Things like LL, CD etc just suck people in and get them to part with their cash.I have yet to meet anybody who has kept the weight off. Like weight loss surgery, it just is NOT natural or normal. Go back to eating your usual stuff and the weight goes on again.
People who have gastric bands & bypasses often lose huge amounts of weight initially but once the "honeymoon" period is over & they realise that this is now their new way of life, they sabotage all their surgical intervention.
They still get those high calories in there somehow:rolleyes: like liquidising chocolate bars, consuming lots of alcohol and just not following the healthy eating advice that they promised their surgeon they would. The reason is that the surgery has in no way at all addressed their psychological issues with eating.

as i said it has to be a change in your way of eating for life not just to lose weight, a return to your old way of eating will be a return to your old weight
slowly slowly catches the worm as they say (and keeps the sags at bay lol)
i know a couple of people who have had a gastric band and gained it all baack doing exactly what u said penny, they are now lowcarbing and trying to lose weight for lifeWhen you know better you do better0 -
I've lost about 4 stone this year and have no loose skin. I orginally did it with CD in January and feb but managed to put it all back on. So in May I joined a gym and just got sweaty. I think the exercise combined with the fact that I am a bit fanatic about the condition of my skin helped. If you're loosing weight keep the skin super moisturised and in good condition. To prevent saggy skin I followed the following regieme.
Exfoliate with a home made sugar scrub.
Dry body brush 2x a day
apply home made moisturiser made out of shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, vitamin e oil and jojoba - this is oily but makes your skin look fabulous.
Keep bio oil and palmers cocoa butter in my handbag and apply freely throughout the day.
Oh and a note about VLCDs. I struggled with them for over a year, they work in the short term but the reason why I got so fat was because I love food. At the end of the day all a VLCD does is deny you the food that you need so I decided to stop making myself miserable and eat while loosing weight through exercise. There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -

The early bird catches the worm OR slowly, slowly, catchee monkey!!
Did anyone see the piece in the papers lately about low carb diets starving the brain? Mind you, I love my carbs and I'm convinced my brain is going, so that's not necessarily right :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
