Have any of you lost 3st or a bit less and NOT

ended up with loose wrinkly skin after?
Or if you've lost that amount and do have loose skin, how bad is it and have you learned to live with it?
I need to lose about 3st, maybe 4 but will be happy with 3.
I lost 1st a few years ago and had no problems but I lost it slowly and exercised quite a lot too.

Any advice?

  • I lost over 3 stone end of last year and I lost it very quickly (in about 3 and a half months) and luckily didnt end up with any loose skin at all and any stretch marks I had on certain areas of my body completely disappeared once I lost the weight. I must admit I didnt do any exercise to lose the weight, it was all just calorie counting... so that was my experience;)
  • I lost weight a while ago now sadly put it back on like, but i lost 3 stone in 12 weeks i didn't have any loose skin luckily but i am 22. I have joined slimming world about 5 weeks ago and im doing brilliant :)

    Good luck

I have recently lost 3 stone over 6 months and don't have loose skin. I am 44. I have read that once you reach menopause you are more likely to have loose skin as the skin is less elastic.

I followed a detox type diet so I no longer have cellulite either.

I must admit I was worried about loose skin, but as long as you loose 1-2lbs a week you should be fine.

When I reached a plateau for a few weeks, I would think that it was because my skin needed to shrink a bit before I lost any more. I don't know if it is true but it kept my spirits up.

    All the best.

Thanks to all of you. I do think age makes a difference, as callow pointed out. I'm in my mid 40's too .
I'll be taking it slowly. Fingers crossed!
Not starting till after Christmas though, of course!

i have lost over 8 stone over a approx 18months and dont have loose saggy skin, i do think that the faster u lose it the more likely u are to sag, also u need to take good care of your skin moisturise etc, working out helps as it builds muscle underneath

at one point i lost another stone and at that point my skin was saggy and looked horrible so i gained a stone back and the sag went, so u may have to assess whether u are better a bit heavier with no sag then u are smaller with sag (did that make sense? lol)

oh i am in my 40's so age is not always a factor

When you know better you do better
  • I've lost just under 3 stone low carbing since January 08, and don't have any saggy skin.

I wouldn't want to lose any quicker though, just in case.

I know several people who have lost large amounts of weight (mainly through SW). One lady I know has lost 6.5 stones and it took her about 14 months. Her face and chin look lovely - no saggy skin at all. She says her tummy is pretty good but she does have a little saggy skin around her knees (of all places!!) but she's not too bothered as she seldom displays them.

I also know people who have had gastric bypass ops and have lost large amounts of weight VERY quickly and they both look awful. They have great big flappy bits of skin hanging under their chins and also under their arms and they won't even show their legs!;) People often say that plump ladies "have beautiful faces" (and these same ladies often hate that comment;) ) but it's usually true. Their faces are often flawless and full but if they lose weight too quickly theie faces kind of collapse.

There's a certain TV presenter who had a gastric band and she's on the cover of "Now" magazine this week with a great saggy chin and big bags under her eyes. It just isn't natural to lose weight that fast, it's too much for the body to take.

I used Clarins skin stuff when i lost 4 stone quickly and definately feel it helped on my neck. It isn'tbmoney saving but it's really good. Bio oil has a lot of fans too, you could try that.

How did you lose so much weight so quickly?

Lighterlife but I wouldn't recommend it, It can make you really ill and when you look at me i've put it all back on :(

    Slower the better :)

hi shykins, yes, I understand about losing that other stone and then getting saggy. I thought that was a possibility which is why I'll be happy to lose just 3st. Strictly speaking it should be 4st but...I think at my age I may look a bit haggard. So I will be happy with 3, but may try for the 4 and see what happens from there.

Thanks - makes me feel more positive about it all .
