Im so glad iv done it, all my creditors have been paid already with the payment i would normally send this company, and all were great about me leaving the dmp for a free one ie Payplan..even thought its not all sorted with them yet all creditors have agreed to deal with me directly even if there is a problem with payplan(not that i can forsee one)
I was offered 3 full and finals over phone whilst i was speaking to my crediotrs for the first time in 3 yrs...my largest creditor offered to reduce debt by £5000 !!!!! Wish i had the money to do it...but im happy with what i have acheived this week.:T :T

  • Thanks for replying 2spicy! We don't have any equity at the mo'. House value approx 300 - 310,000 . we have secured loan of 50k and a mortgage of 242k, and our unsecured debts are almost 60k. Payplan have just called back and said that if it's protecting my house that means the most to me then an IVA would be best! I felt a little as though he was trying to sell me the IVA as it cost me fees, whereas the DMP is free. Really confused now, as was all set for going ahead with a DMP as thought my house would be safer that way, and now been told the contrary by Pay Plan!!Wonder whether I should have just waited til the 17th for CCCS. Any advice?........please!
Finally brave enough to deal with my debts! :D

If you go online with cccs and complete their debt remedy it will give you all the options available to you and it will show you all ther legal terms associated with each option. ie, bankrupcy, iva, DMP. You are not signing up to anything unless you wish to and you can then have a better understanding if a DMP really is suitable for you. There is also the option to have the debt remedy sent by email to you so you can refer back to it at a later date.

I did some work once for an insolvency practitioner and they loved selling iva's as like you say they can earn good money from it.

    Good luck

  • Hi MNM
Thanks for getting back to me. I have done the debt remedy on CCCS and it offered IVA and DMP, the only reason that I contacted payplan was because it was such a long time before I could get to speak to anyone at CCCS, that I got inpatient as just want to crack on with it now! I see that you start on the 1/3/09 with CCCS, did it take you long from start to finish and did you contact Payplan aswell? Hope you don't mind me being nosey!

Its almost 2 weeks since i contacted payplan, but had an email and forms to fill in, and another email saying someone will ring within the week..so looking at 2 weeks from me first emailing them.
It may seem along time but be patient...it will be so worth the wait...just follow the advise on here, dont panic and very soon you will be giving the advise not asking for it...look and Marfan not martain...a complete turn around in under a month!
