CCCS have put me on a Self-Administration thingy, Well I have just phoned CCCS to try and clear this up ,is this a good thing or not ?
I was told this is not actually a DMP.
Will I be treated different from people on DMP`s ?
Can I use the CCCS Client reference number to back me up?
More comfused and worried now , can anyone help ?

    Wiltsman.

yep!.. what Leease already said

I was reeeeeeally worried at first too.
But before I forget.. On my letter I told them I had 'taken advice from National Debt line (I havent) .. and Payplan.. and this is my Payplan number.blah blah' (which I have)

So maybe yeah.. you could add it.. just so they know you do have some back up there. (You can call CCCS or ask the CCCS counsellors on the thread here at the top of the board.. when you need some extra help)

I keep telling myself .. this is NOT going to go away.. no matter how much I try to forget it.. We (us lot) are at the point now where it IS crunch time.. and has to be dealt with at long last. _pale_

BUT!!.. a lot of us are in exactly the same boat.. So we can all help eachother along the way.

One thing I suggest.. is look though the DMP threads.. and others that seem 'similar' to your situation.. and read read read read READ. You will learn A LOT! .. I have..and I'm an idiot! :o

One thing you will learn too (by reading lots here) .. is don't freak out. The creditors (not all of them, some will be helpful) will say anything and everything to spook you into paying. Keep that in mind. The only people that can take your stuff are court appointed baliffs.. (as far as I have read) ... and all the rest of the stuff that comes in the post is to scare you into paying.

a Bajillion people have been through this before us.. and a bajillion more with come after us too.. Keep that in mind too. ;)

letters ( from CCCS website along with the budget planner and a token payment of £1.00 as not all of them are overdue yet ) when I filled in the online debt solution with CCCS, at the end it offered me the choice of IVA, DMP or my own DMP. It then goes on to explain ( if arrangeing my own DMP )how to calculate a pro rota payment and a template letter to send off to my creditors explaining after seeking help from CCCS I am writing to offer a reduced payment, etc etc etc. So I sent it all off. HAPPY DAYS

Ohh great.. much the same thing really.

Phew!.. I'm glad you are going for it too. :j

    Hi all,
Hope you're all doing well! Impressed by all you doing your own DMP's, don't think I'd have known where to start!

I started in Jan and don't get any phonecalls at the mo from mine. But Mint keep phoning for hubs! No idea why, it may just be coz they haven't spoken to him about it at all yet coz i've been organising it all! whereas all mine i have actually spoken to at some point! i'm going to get him to phone when he's next home and fingers crossed they will then stop the phonecalls!

Only other phonecalls i keep getting are for my sil. got another recorded message one so phoned them back to tell them! i said she didn't live there and he asked if i knew her. at first i said i didn't think it mattered because she didn't live here regardless. but then when i was saying she'd never put this address/number down for anything (this is what she told me) i had to tell him (not that she's my sister-in-law, but that i knew her). he said she must have done or we wouldn't have been able to get it to which i said i know lots of people who don't put their work numbers down and still get called at work so i don't thnk that's true! Anyway, he again said the details would be taken off but that i should try and get her to phone about it! hoepfully that will be an end to it!

i don't so much mind talking to a person (altho the phone did ring early sat morning, i'm glad we no longer have a phone upstairs and that i didn't go rushing downstairs to answer it) it's mainly the recorded messages that annoy me! if you can't be bothered to put a real person on the case then s0d off!

Eupho, I have one question, you know the sofa thing, is that a loan or HP? I thought with HP it was different and couldn't be put on a DMP? And that because it for an actual item they could just take it back if it wasn't paid? no idea as i don't have anything like that but thought i'd check you'd looked into the differences if it was HP!

had a lovely weekend with my family celebrating Mum's 60th birthday! But had bought tickets for a show last night and when trying to buy extra tickets found the show wasn't even on!!!!! No shows on mondays!! and couldn't get hold of the company as it was bh! Was very annoyed as it was my present to her! ended up going to see something else instead and dad is hopefully sorting it out today and giving them h3ll (luckily he bought the tickets, not me).

Off to do some work now for the last hour or so!

Off to see Mark Thomas this evening! He's my favourite comedian, and I'm looking forwrad to hearing what he has to say about all the expenses palaver!!

    Afternoon all

I feel better after reading through these threads - dunno why -just cos i know i'm not alone.

having a real issue with my bank ( & i work for them) owe them £30k and have do a managed loan with them to reapy the o/d / loan & cc. I actually WANT to do a MLA as think it will leave me for the first time truly in control -not relying on ccs & o/d to see us through

but as always am hitting a brickwall - basically as i am 'staff' they can only agree a mla over 7 years - paying back £445!! pm. have pointed out this is crazy as will leave me short with other creditors but they just don't give a hoot. Also if don't go down this MLA route with them & default on my cc or loans (which i haven't - yet) then i could possibly face being put on discplinary!!

have asked a cccs counsellor what my other creditors will think as i will be paying the bank the majority of whats avaliable - the reply was to be honest with them & hope they accept!

oh god -does this worry & stress never end????

was all sorted last night with that i'll be offering creditors etc - even ready to fight if need be -but now just feel back to square 1.

i thought after working for a bnak for over 15 yrs would get support - haha - how wrong & how stupid i am?? have even wrote a lovely long letter of complaint but i know exactly how the system works and that the letter will be just scanned & picked up by a 'global' dept and a standard letter sent back.

    its rubbish rubbish rubbish.

    sorry for the ramble.......................

I am too sending off for the CCA just as a back up in case some of them refuse the reduced payments or if I ever get in a position to offer F&F settlements ;).

    Hi

    What's the CCA ?

Hubbie in a load of debt from failed business and one of the many options is a F&F Settlement to the debts. Trying to get idea of what F&FS stand a chance of getting accepted, guess it depends on who it's with but would be a way of putting a line under it all.

    Many thanks :-)

Ramble away Sas, I think we all know its not going to be easy by a long shot, and I really feel for you such a difficult position when you work for the bank aswell, I can't really offer you any advice, if any other creditors try to take you to court because of payments, I am sure the judge would understand you paying more to HSBC if this is what they require not to sack you, as you wouldnt be able to pay anyone anything if you get sacked.

Hi a CCA is known as a credit card agreement, alot of companies don't hold a copy of them if you took out the debt prior to April 2007, if you send a letter requesting a copy and they can't provide one then the debt become unenforceable ( they basically cant take you to court if you dont pay it ) so it puts you in a better negotiating position for either reduced payments or F&F settlements. Therefore is thread on the debt free wannabe link called CCA REQUESTS UPDATE PLEASE, its full of really good information about sending these requests. hope this helps

    Hi Saskia

Having been a loyal HSBC customer for about 12 years, with well-managed accounts, I've been extremely disappointed with the way they've behaved since I got myself into financial difficulties. Especially since they themselves recommend approaching companies such as CCCS in their publication 'Putting Your Finances In Order', but then refuse to deal with them when you do go with them!! However in this day and age of crap customer service and loyalty only to their shareholders, I can't say I'm surprised...

However, as an employee with over 15 years service, it's terrible the way they are treating you. Even if they forced you to, say, attend an in-house course on 'managing personal finances', for example before granting you the loan, at least they would be supporting you. They should remember that everyone makes mistakes, and that includes financial mistakes by their employees.

Just to say 'Well Done' on writing your letter of complaint and standing up for yourself. I hope it all works out for you! Hopefully your other creditors will realise what arrogant bullies the HSBC are and accept that they are putting you in a terrible position.

    Best wishes
    DG :D
