Hi Eupho, the letter above is a standard letter a company now has to send by law to advise you that you have broken your terms of credit and a charge has been levied to your account ( there abouts anyway ) I really don't think this is a reply to your letter as I received one the otherday of Halifax the exact same and I haven't sent them an offer of reduced payments yet. I think the letter you have received is a default letter and probably the start of many more to come until RBOS accept your reduced payment. x

    Hi Leeeease :)

Thanks for that!.. that made me feel better.

Well CCCS said I can just pay £100 this month instead of £252 due my wages being low as I said in my previous post. While this is good news as it means i won't run out of money this month, I am still worried sick about how the creditors will react. They have all received 2 payments now from the DMP and I was hoping that would persuade some of them who have refused to accept. But now the payment will drop for a month and I think they won't take me seriously :o
I am so sick and tired of all this. In some ways things are better but the way my job/pay/contracts work causes hassle. I am working like an idiot but my organisation takes ages to get contracts sorted for work I am already doing! So while I know the money will come through eventually, at the moment, I feel demotivated as the work i am doing isn't showing in my pay packet and we are left to struggle
Daft as it may seem we will actually be better off when I go to university in September as I will get full financial support.
Just need some support and reassurance really. Happy bank holiday weekend to all :T Gilly - chancer63

    Hey Gilly

Try not to panic.. you can only do what you can.. same for all of us. If they dont like it.. for now.. thats just tough! You are trying to repay what you owe.. you ARE doing something about it... try not to freak out. :)

I dunno if you saw the other day.. but there was an article about Debt.. and it was saying how National Debt line are expecting 4 MILLION (!!!) people that need help this year.

Now.. thats obviously not including the people they are already helping.. the 800 calls they get per day.. and the 1600 trying to get through.
AND!.. when you think of it this way.. thats only National Debt line.. What about Payplan? CCCS? .. and all the other debt charities/help places??? ..

AND!!.. what about all the people that are in BIG debt and havent 'come forward' for help yet.

Sooo... we are just two little fish in ALLLLLLLLLLLL of those people.

Everything that is being said done and written to us by them.. A bajillion people have gone through before us.. and a bajillion will go through this.. AFTER us too.

Keep your chin up.. this will all be a crappy bad memory one day. xxx

    Hey Everyone
    Can I join in too??!!

Just about to start my DMP with CCCS, first payment 1st July - a summer DMP!

My debts have been spiralling for years, spending on cards, getting loans to pay them, spending on cards again. Not even buying extravagent items, just paying council tax, grocery shopping, topping up bank accounts and other debts. Basically just robbing peter to pay paul month in month out. Was getting to the point that I was maxing out on the CCs and waking in the middle of the night knowing that I would have no money to swap around soon

I turned to CCCS after scouring this thread - so thank you all.

I hope to be debt free in about 6 and a half years - maybe sooner.

At the moment I am just going through the process of sending out the letters with token payments, changing bank account etc. But keep having panic attacks thinking about the phone calls which will start and consequences such as CCJs or even a charging order :( - feel so scared at the moment.

Anyway I am definately here for the long-haul :D

Hi Rach and welcome. I am only a little ahead of you, started DMP with CCCS on April 1st - ha ha! Still learning the ropes really and getting a feel for how it all works. These forums are great though. I am more of a reader than a poster, but there is always someone around to help or a kind word. As said a lot of people are in a mess, many not admitting to it. We have to take some responsibility but if the goverment keep ignoring it the way they are, it's gonna hit the fan in a BIG way and soon!
I hate money - it controls everything. I just hope that this latest crisis means we can all return to a simpler but happier way of life :j

    Hi

I will be filling my creditors details in tomorrow on my DMP application form but there isn't enough room for all of them  as I have lots of little balances with lots of creditors, should I photocopy the form and add in my creditors or are you only allowed a certain amount of creditors on a DMP.
I've got 18 different accounts some with the same company but all have their own account numbers
ie I have 4 accounts with Barclays but they all have their own account numbers.

    Hiya,

I far as i'm aware, you are allowed as many creditors as you like on a DMP. Once the DMP starts, they all need to be treated equally, no matter how small the debt is.

Some people have tried to pay off the lesser debts before starting on a DMP with the money saved by only sending tokens payments to larger debts, rather than the contractual minimum payment, prior to the DMP starting.

For example, if you were paying say £100 minimum payment on a credit card with a large balance and only paid a £1 token payment instead until the DMP is up and running. This could free up money to settle a debt that was say only £75 before the DMP starts.

The trouble is with very small debts is that when the pro rata payments are sent to creditors, they are often left with a tiny monthly figure in the DMP, and therefore refuse to accept it. So by settling them prior to the DMP, it not only avoids this, but reduces the amount of creditors you have in the long run.

    Cocker:)

    Evening everyone,
It's been glorious sunshine here in sunny Norfolk; hope everyone else has had a lovely sunny day.
    Next have accepted my DMP.
    MBNA have not.

Haven't heard from any of the others yet.

Expected MBNA to be a bit difficult from other people's experiences. I am hoping they will jump on board when they realise I am serious and committed over the next few months.

I cannot pay any more anyway and so at the moment I am not going to get stressed about it.

Happy Bank Holiday to all! xx
Proud to be dealing with my debts
