I am just setting up a DMP with CCS too, just sent off all my statments and payslips ect. Sent token payments to creditors on Friday and just waiting for the sh*t to hit the fan! The way I am trying to see it is that sooo many people are in this position at the moment that the creditors are used to it now! .... at least we are trying to pay what we owe and not doing a runner ... that must count for something

    Morning All,

I am arranging my own DMP, sending letters off today, this forum has helped me so much ( even helping me realise I couldn't struggle on anymore ) I have mixed feelings, sometimes feel positive, other times so scared. But I can't do anything else but my best!!! :T

  • CCCS have put me on a Self-Administration thingy, Well I have just phoned CCCS to try and clear this up ,is this a good thing or not ?
I was told this is not actually a DMP.
Will I be treated different from people on DMP`s ?
Can I use the CCCS Client reference number to back me up?
More comfused and worried now , can anyone help ?

    Wiltsman.

Hi Wilsman, you're basically doing the same as me, Eupho and Saskia, it's still a DMP but you will organise it yourself, you can send a letter advising your creditors that after seeking help from CCCS you are offering them a reduced payment, so instead of paying CCCS you will make direct reduced payments to your creditor ( Including a copy of your budget sheet ). Are CCCS sending any info to you? If not go onto national debt helpline website and they have a sample letter you can send to your creditors offering pro-rota payments. If you don't feel confortable dealing yourself, try Payplan or even nation debt helpline as they are also free. I imagine CCCS are so busy at the mo that they feel it might be better you arranging your own DMP. Hope this helps

    WOOHOO! Well Done Leease! :T:beer:

The way it looks to me.. is that people with agencies still (usually) seem to have to put up with all the same stuff we will.. But I think we can respond faster to stuff that crops up a long the way instead of waiting to be the next case dealt with.

I was freeeeeeeeaked! at doing it on my own at first.. (that's what stopped me when my debt was (only) 15G.. panicked at doing it alone.. and stopped.. duh!)..

But looking at all I have read this last month.. I think I prefer the idea of doing it myself.

What are you sending? just a letter?

Dunno if you have already.. But I used this http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html which also calculated my pro rata payments for the creditors (coz I'm a dummy at maths.. can you tell? :rotfl:)

I sent a letter.. with a print of the thingy from that website ^ ... which showed my SOA.. each of creditors.. and how much they were all going to get. Oh.. and a £2 (or make it £1) token payment.

Mind you.. dont listen to me.. its been 11days.. and out of 13 creditors.. so far.. all I've received in reply is ONE.. 'No chance lady!' ... haha. (Just sent them a 'please reconsider' template letter)

Thanks Eupho, letters have been sent now :T( feel so much better ) as I have been hounded by HSBC, phoned on Saturday at 8am:mad:, so I picked up the phone and put it next to me, I was seeing to my baby who was crying so they soon hung up :rotfl: Just checked my new bank account and its in credit wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo no more overdraft:D. I love the idea of doing my own DMP now, I am totally in control. I am too sending off for the CCA just as a back up in case some of them refuse the reduced payments or if I ever get in a position to offer F&F settlements ;).

letters ( from CCCS website along with the budget planner and a token payment of £1.00 as not all of them are overdue yet ) when I filled in the online debt solution with CCCS, at the end it offered me the choice of IVA, DMP or my own DMP. It then goes on to explain ( if arrangeing my own DMP )how to calculate a pro rota payment and a template letter to send off to my creditors explaining after seeking help from CCCS I am writing to offer a reduced payment, etc etc etc. So I sent it all off. HAPPY DAYS
