Nothing much to update from me! Have sent all info back to CCCS, DD all amended to new account, Council Tax were a bit weird they said to cancel DD with original bank then wait for them to write to me for new details - will have to keep my eye on that!
Do CCCS generally send out welcome pack quite quickly after receiveing all my info and is it generally emailed?
Just tyring to eeak out the rest of the money left in my account until pay day on the 26th:rolleyes: so that I don't go into my reserve.....(not confidant!!)
I got my pack back within a week of sending it back to them by post....fingers crossed you'll be good to go on 1st June x:j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j

Hi
Just an update from us. M&S have frozen interest and accepted DMP as have Next and Abbey. Still getting letters from the others (11 others!), but the first payment is not due to go out until June, so maybe then they will then stop sending letters and accept the payment.
The phone calls have tailed off anyhow, which is good news.
Great to read some of the positive DMP stories (elsie!).
Looking forward to seeing the balance going down instead of up with the interest/charges.
Best of luck to everybody embarking on their DMP 1st June.

Afternoon all. Bahamas: I'll sort out a number for you when I get home.
Has anyone had any dealings with Link Financial? Had a very strange call from them today, asking them to confirm my home address without saying who they were from. Eventually got round that, then they said MBNA had sold their debt on to them in March (which is a possibility), but I've had no letters from Link themselves.
Then they kept pronouncing my address wrong, which is what is making me suspicious. Anyone know if this is one of their sneaky tactics? I have a phone no (which tallies) and ref no from them to give to PayPlan, but the way they acted wound me up a little. Almost as much as Moorcroft did!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi All,
Advice needed desperately please. On DMP with cccs for last 2 years.
Total debt outstanding 48k on original debt of 45k. So as you can see interest on all mydebts has not been frozen and as such debt increased. At this rate Iwill be old and grey before paying it all off. Anyone out there that's had their interest frozen, and how to go about it?
So desperate, even thought of taking second charge on house with mortgage provider and try for full and final settlement figure failing that pay off in full. Want to pay my dues but can't go on forever like this need to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
If they did freeze int I could possibly increase payments a little more and clear total debt in 5 years that way they would get more than a full and final settlement, ssems crazy not to.
Sorry for rambling on
Thanks for any advice0 -

have you spoken to CCCS about it? They may not know if it's been ticking along to their knowledge. they can maybe try again to get it taken off? that's what i'd do.
Also, (And i'm still not convinced and a little worried about this) but when i last spoke to Payplan about my bank account still charging me, they said not to worry and that if they carried on it woul still be fine, as at the end when the DMP is coming close (on paper) to zero they would ask them to remove all charges and interest. and apparntly this normally works. like i said this sounds quite risky to me and obviously looks very scary if the number is going up not down.
I say ring CCCS and ask.
Sorry i can't be more help, it must feel like you're going round in circles!!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -

Sorry no idea, not had dealings like that! does sound decidedly dodgy tho! Ring Payplan and give them the details and they can deal with it form there. they shouldn't need to talk to you really I wouldn't have thuoght!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -

That's terrible Stickman!
This site is about to close, so I can't find the link in time but there is a letter on National Debtline which I've used - it's called something like 'Letter to send to creditors who will not freeze interest'. I haven't had any replies to mine yet, but it's better than doing nothing....

HTH!
Have looked at letter on Nat Debtline and it appears quite good. Just worried though that if a creditor asks"who else has frozen their interest" (and as yet there's no one) what do you do then?
Also I contacted cccs last week re interest freezing and they basically told me to write to creditors explaining etc etc. Now please don't get me wrong cccs are brilliant I can't praise them enough, however surely a letter coming from them is better than one from me. Still if that's the only way then I will try myself and just pray.
Thanks again0 -
Hi stickman,
Barclays bank and Cahoot were the first ones to stop interest charges. Beneficial (HFC) also stopped. Barclays did it almost immediately, and cahoot did it when I rang and spoke to them about it. I really can't praise either of these enough. I asked Payplan to ask fo the interest to be frozen on the other accounts, and they send letters, which had no effect. Clydesdale and LLoyds TSB are still charging at ridiculous rates, but I was also told by Payplan that when my DMP gets close to finishing, that they would then say to our creditors that the figures given at the start of our DMP were what we had been working to, and that in most cases the creditors would stop the interest. Fingers crossed.!!

I joined up with Payplan three weeks, and initially they were wonderful. However, now I have been allocated a case worker that isn't the case. I don't seem to be getting any progress, and now they have lost my money! She gave me the wrong account number and they are having trouble locating it... I made my first payment on 1st May, so would have expected something to go to creditors towards the end of last week.
I emailed yesterday, and to query what was going on (again) and I suggested making a token payment to creditors, which case worker confirmed that I should do. I am so annoyed about this though. I want to sort this out with the least hassle possible, and they are making it worse.
Was a bit concerned about case worker from the start, when she emailed me to make first appointment to go through things and tell me 'what to expect'. When I spoke to her she went into detail about how Mercer's would be very difficult and it wouldn't be pleasant (I have debt with Barclaycard). Maybe it's better to be forewarned, but I didn't find it very inspiring!
Apologies for the rant, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced these sort of problems? Should I try and get my payment back and go to CCCS?
Any thoughts/suggestions would be welcome.
