I'm always here lurking - I read every day, but don't always get the chance to post :)

Had an amusing convo with EGG on Monday though. Such an uppity young man. But I'm so at the stage where I couldn't care less, I tend to stay very calm and then get more and more patronising as I go along!:j I had a letter from CCCS to say that EGG couldn't accept the payment offer because the had "no Record of Account". EGG sent me a letter saying they'd been unable to contact me by phone (they'd not tried, my answer phone registers every call, message or no message) and that I needed to phone them. So I did. They asked for 2 numbers - told them there was only one, and oh look, you've already got it (I ain't stooopid!!). Then they said they could see I was on DMP with CCCS but they'd had no offer. Oh, says I, that's odd, cos this is what CCCS say (letter to say no account). So he's saying "why would we say that, of course there's an account", and I'm saying "well, durrrr, I don't know, do I?". In the end, I told him that it was a pointless exercise going round and round, because I only know what CCCS have told me. He eventually stroppily said that he'd phone CCCS right away. I did like ending the call with, "ok yes, you do that". :rotfl:Silly little people. Such !!!!!!!!

Oh yes, and after my weekend of harrassing phone calls from Halicarp, I've had letters from them, dated BEFORE the BH weekend when they were harrassing me, saying they didn't have any phone numbers and asking me to phone them to update their system - ARE YOU JOKING?! NO WAY!!! :rotfl:So I think somebody has been sending back dated letters to try and make out they WEREN'T harrassing me!! Divs!!!

Eupho, I sorted you out the other day. Keep up!

Welcome to the others, your numbers are:

    Saskia1 310
    Tottenhamtotty 311

It's not an official list or anything, just a way of joining in with the fun. But I'd like people with numbers to get involved and not disappear!

For those that are interested, the up to date list is on page 69 of this thread.

had our first phone call the other day from Northern Rock house phone rang than before it stopped ringing the mobile rang inpatient or what, and they gave them selves away because our phones never ring sad i know but they will soon

anyway i answer and i was pleasantly surprised at the response from the lady.

The conversation was full if yes Sir no Sir in fact to many bloody Sirs, it was patronising and she was dragging out the word so it sounded like Sirrrrrrrr:rotfl:i think the next phone calls will be a little less like that but what they have started they can finish so they can speak to me like that all the time i liked it

    Morning all!

I'm thinking of phoning Halifax today just to clarify the account they are kindly paying me a visit about on Monday so that I can reference it in the letter I send them telling they aren't invited so are breaking the law. All our numbers from work are displayed as number witheld so they won't be able to get hold of me there and I will simply refuse to give them any other numbers. I'm also going to tell them all correspondence must be in writing. I know I'll me wasting my breath but they are beginning to get on my nerves. I guess they are acheiving their aim of wearing me down! BUT they will not get me to agree to anything!

However I think I will spend the weekend cleaning the house and baking a nice cake in readiness for the visit on 18th. I wonder what they could possibly want (said in nice polite sarcastic tone). Have to find a nice outfit as well if I'm getting visitors!!! :D

And there was me thinking I didn't have a social life when all along the Halifax are there willing to be my friends.... I feel privileged! :j

Oh I'm not having a go at anyone (espesh not the oldies), more the newbies that start, request a number, then never come back. I just feel used when that happens. :D

Speaking of which, last one for tonight before an early night (I'm determined).

    Charm1 312.

    Night all!

    Hi

I don't post very often but I read the thread every day, and reading other peoples experiences on this site has been so helpful. My DMP started on 1 March so I'm quite new myself and can't give a lot of advise at this stage, except to say up to now everything has been ok and it seems to be the best decision I've made for years, but if someone asked a question I felt I could answer I'd certainly post.

Please don't feel used Ian:A it's great that you take the time to issue the numbers and it's really good to know we are all there for each other. even if some of us are lurking in the background.

Hi all, are we allowed/is it possible to get a mobile phone contract when on a DMP? I'm about to give my phone back to my employer which they have paid for up until now. Thanks for all your help and support!

    Hi all

How's it going with y'all?! Hope you're not all being harassed to distraction!

Just a little update from me, and finally we have a little positive ray of light from HSBC...albeit only one of the 3 debts I have with them!

A nice lady sent me a letter yesterday saying they'd accept my reduced payments on my HSBC mastercard for a period of 6 months, and reduce the interest charged during this period to 6%, which is much better than the current 21.9%! At least my debt on this account may now finally start going down!! :j

Fingers crossed there'll be no problems further down the line, but this was my little ray of sunshine on an otherwise gloomy day! There is hope HSBC'ers! xx
    :j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j
