Thanks for your advice on Next guys, going to send them a letter just reminding them of DMP and their letter, explaining CCCS does not make payment til 25th.
Devongirl, how's it going your end with HSBC? The phone calls miraculously stopped as soon as they received their first payments, however I have a nasty feeling its probably the calm before the storm!!:j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j

We have paid £999 for a family of 2 plus baby ( lucky he is still under 3 ) for 2 weeks all inclusive in Sharm el sheik. ok, its a bit extravagent but sometimes a complete get away is whats needed, and we havnt had a holiday longer than 1 week for the last 4 years, worrying about money etc. Now we can lie by the pool or on the beack, eat as much and drink as much as we can ( £23 per person per day ! )LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Looks like I am on my own trying to sort out a DMP .. I am in touch (new) with Payplan.. but according to them I don't have enough surplus for them to take me on properly..
They worked my surplus out at £28 per month.. BUT! they also worked out a load of things on my SOA to be waaayy more than I in fact DO pay.. like £480 in 'housekeeping' for me and my 3 teens.. I'm SURE I dont spend anywhere near that.
So I think I MIGHT be able to offer more to my creditors once I rework it.
Anyway.. now I just said all that I forgor what I actually WAS going to say.. haha :rotfl:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

Well all done - phoned CCCS at lunchtime managed to get through to a counsellor straight away - went through it all, and the pack has been emailed to me, just having a browse at the letter that I have to send to creditors - can anyone let me know what the reason they put down for not been able to repay??
think I saw something on here about this before but can't find it now!
Thanks and the DMP starts 1st June - so hi to all the other 1st of Junners;)0 -

Hey Crafty1
Well done on getting it sorted out!! I've seen your various posts on this forum and pleased that it's all come together at last! :j
Without knowing your reason not being able to repay, I can't answer that one, but suggest it would be one of the following:
Change of financial circumstances, Loss of Job, Loss of Overtime, End of Contract etc
Change of personal circumstances such as ending a relationship and moving in by yoursef, or bereavement
I think the most popular one, however, is probably 'overcommitted on credit' or 'used credit to live on'.
I personally used 'overcommitted on credit' which was the wording suggested by CCCS. Basically I had never had any missed payments or anything, but just kept borrowing from Peter to pay Paul and then pay Patrick (if you see what I mean!!) and ended up with pretty much my entire incomings going on debt repayments and no money to live on.
Hope this helps!

Hey Eupho
Why don't you post a statement of affairs on this thread and let the experts on here go through your details with a fine toothcomb?
http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html
Just an idea.
However, don't skim your budget too tight to the bone... As a DMP-er you won't have access to any further credit so you need some emergency fund savings for unexpected things like car repairs and the like.
Having said all that (!!!) :rotfl:I'm sure Payplan know what they're talking about so the budget they may have set you is probably quite reasonable and is done within certain guidelines that are accepted by financial institutions (for example there's a given 'amount' for 2 adults living in a house for groceries within about £50 either way). So if you think you can shave something off your budget then go ahead, but don't leave yourself short of cash or you could jeopardise your whole plan.
Maybe see what the gang say when they see your SOA?
Have confused myself now!
By the way, a standing order is a bit like a direct debit but it is for an agreed amount per month, whereas a d/d can change. Don't know how you work it out from a post office account, but most basic bank accounts will allow you to have these.
Best wishes
