  • Hi

I agree with the others too. I would open a new basic account elsewhere. I opened a Natwest Step account also, which was very easy to do. You can either do it online or go into a branch.

Thanks for the replies, in the back of my mind I thought this would be the answer!

I am taking along weekend from work this week so I can get all my paperwork together and do some filing of all the letters I have been not opening.

Looking forward, if not aprehensive, to the start of my becoming debt free journey.

    Sx
PS: can I have a number?

  • Hi all,

I've finally decided to join the forum after setting up my DMP with CCCS. I've spent the past year worrying about my financial situation and think it's about time that I did something about it.

I have 12500 spread out over 4 creditors (HSBC, LLOYDS TSB, BLACKHORSE AND VIRGIN) and currently await responses from all of them with regards to the DMP notification letters.

One question - I've aimed to start my payments to CCCS on the 1st June, but I have payments due to my creditors on the 18th May. Do I send them a token payment or should I try and cover the full payment to each creditor?

I'll thank you in advance for your help and look forward to reading up on everyones experiences and keeping you posted on my own :)

I've spoken to Moorcroft this morning who have taken over my small Nationwide debt. Anyone else dealt with them? Are they really the gets that they seem to be? I've received no letters from them as they had my wrong address, and now they're threatening me with their 'pre-court' division.

TBH, NW are the only creditor to NOT to acknowledge my DMP, and Moorcroft seemed surprised when I mentioned it to them, and they'd await communication from PayPlan.

A bit miffed with it all really, and tempted to borrow money to pay it off! (That last statement is half tongue in cheek).

Token payments of £1 would be best, otherwise they will still expect minimum payments every month.
