I have 3 cards with BoS, all ring constantly at the beginning, until the DMP is sorted out. The three have passed over to inhouse debt collectors, and (I hope) are happy to carry on as normal.

BOS passed on to Blair Oliver and Scott (inhouse) who ask for an update every 6 months other than that not too much of a problem.

Has anyone had dealings with Bank of Scotland,Capital one & Marks & Spencer in their DMP'S?Did you find them reasonable to deal with & did they stop interest/charges?Just about to dip my toe in the DMP pool!
    Scared as hell!
    Hi,
I have been on a DMP with CCCS for 2 years now.
My experience of these creditors is:-
Bank Of Scotland- very inconsistent-stopped interest charges, then reintroduced them and are a pain, although the interest rate has been reduced so at least my debt to them is going down.
Capital One and M & S--Great,both stopped interest charges 2 years ago and have been very supportive of my DMP to date.
    Good luck,

    Hi there:beer:
Don't have BoS or Capital One, but I have to Marks and Spencer have been entirely reasonable and the best creditor on my DMP (only set up last month but still..)

I got the usual monthly statement from them advising that I had failed to make full minimum payment. They started to call me and I ignored the phone, but eventually answered and spoke to a very polite lady. I explained that I'd decided to go on a DMP and that CCCS were allocating them approx £10.50 a week and that I'd do my best to increase payments if my financial situation improved. She said she would add these details to my file, and the next thing I heard from M&S was a letter advising me that they'd accepted the DMP payment and would stop interest on the account as long as I continued to pay the DMP payment in full. (Can't say fairer than that). So don't worry about M&S!

BTW, just to add that although a DMP is extremely scary in the initial period, you may come to realise it was a very good move.... Speaking personally, even at this early stage in my DMP, it's such a relief to have a realistic budget which, whilst requiring me to be strict, does allow me to relax abit and not constantly worry about money. (10 days till payday and I have money in savings and £7 left in my new bank account! :T)

  • hi, i am going to be doing a dmp in my name only, I was wondering if it would be best to put our mortgage in my husbands name only so as to avoid the risk of any charging orders, does anyone have any advise on this thanks
  • Is there something I dont know about, has everone moved to a new thread or something (I dont really understand the new threads thing) but my view is showing that no one (except me) has posted anything since 2.30 yesterday, and im thinking this is really unusual!! Is everyone just busy or am I missing something - starting to panic here!
  • Hi TTSP:j
Don't panic! We are all still here, it's normally v quiet over the weekends.

I don't know about putting the mortgage into your hubbies name to avoid any future CO, I suspect that there will be some clause re timescales for the transfer etc, maybe CCCS or ND can advise you on this one.

Keep posting, all the wonderful guys will be along soon, they're just enjoying the sunshine :A .
    Take care
