Hello everyone - this is my first post. Hoping to go onto DMP in the next month. Just wondering if I've got it right about CCA's - am I supposed to send a letter to my creditors and ask for a copy? Do I get this letter from CCCS? Sorry if repeating others questions, I'm reading back but there is so much to remember!Slimming World Newby 75.5lbs for starters, another 75lbs after that!:rotfl:One small step for me one giant leap for my backside!

Hi All,
First post on this thread, although have been reading it for a few days! Due to start my DMP with CCCS soon - just have to post my initial stuff back to them on Monday to get the ball rolling. Already cancelled DDs and set up basic bank account. I feel giddy with excitement at finally getting things sorted - should I feel this excited?! Feels perverse in a way
Muddlemess - you need to send your CCA requests to each of your creditors. If you do a search on this forum you will find a template letter somewhere - this is what I used. I think the purpose of a getting your CCA is to help with fighting off the use of the courts e.g. CCJ by any DCAs when pursuing your debt. Without a valid CCA the debt is unenforecable in court.
I've been accepted on a low start DMP by CCCS too - I don't think any of my creditors will like it, but it's tough look. I don't have a Lloyds account, but I do have a similar set up with HSBC. When I send them the letter informing them of my DMP, I'm just going to ask them to close the current account - I don't use it anyway (although had to fund it for my DD for my loan!).
Right, back to Family Guy - it's good to laugh when facing all this stuffTotal Debt as of January 2010: £61,234

Hi I am also doing DMP in my own name. I have taken my partners name off our joint account as I have my loans and CC with Lloyds. It was very amusing when the bank rang to comfirm they said 'your partner erm ex partner', I was laughing so much I couldn't correct them, the guy must have thought I was mad! Just thought it was amusing they assumed we'd split up!!:DSlimming World Newby 75.5lbs for starters, another 75lbs after that!:rotfl:One small step for me one giant leap for my backside!;):rotfl:

Hi
This is my first post on this forum. I have started a DMP and my first repayment is at the end of April. This is all new to me. However I can honestly say that I do feel better now I know I am in control of my finances. I have no doubt it will take a long time to get my self straight, but at least I have done something about it.
Its very reassuring to hear that there are so many others in the same position as me. I hope to be debt free by 2012. Seems a long way off but time soon flies by!!!
Thanks to everyone for their support, what a great way to get some financial help!!0
