Hi
Just back after a nice easter break to loads of letters. It seems MBNA and BArclays have stopped interest which is good news. Mint and Tesco have accepted DMP but have not stopped interest:mad: and Sainsburys have passed our debt to Blair OLiver Scott. We got a letter from them saying we had to pay in full asap or they would send the heavies round. I hope this is only a bluff or do I need to panic over this? Has anyone had much contact with these people?DMP Mutual Support Thread No 278

Hi all,
It really has been quiet on here lately! Altho in some ways that's a good thing as i now feel i can keep up better! Also, I hope it means that everything is going well for everyone!!
Anyway, i'm pretty annoyed at myself at the mo! I think i got a bit complacent as the last couple of months I'd done well on my budget and had money LEFT in the account at the end of the month so i thought i had more leeway!
This month I've failed at the budget! i think i just stopped paying attention! Which is how i got in this mess in the first place!
I have gone into the red (i don't have an od in this account) and have to go to the bank at lunch to pay in money to prevent a charge! Luckily the bills account is still ok and has a buffer so the money will have to come from that! but it does mean i'll have to use that buffer (which is not what it's meant for)! i don't get paid til fri and between now and then my husband will be coming home and i was hoping to do stuff with him! Also it's his birthday on friday and i haven't got him a present yet! AND I still need petrol! Argh!
Not good and not happy with myself! Guess compared to before the DMP it's not all that bad tho and I will know to pay more attention next month! so it's not the end of the world but it is a bit of a blow!
On other news however, Natwest and my dreaded od seem to have given ME money? i checked today as i always do and there is a sum of £16.50 that's been put in! i got a letter at the weekend saying about it i think! but i read it as they'd reduced what i'd be paying them, not that they'd be paying me! I'm shocked!
Anyone had anything similar? I've very confused tbh! pleased obviously! But after everything with them not stopping charges it seems very weird for them to give me money, and I guess I'm just a little suspicious!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -
Hi all,
Well it has taken me a week to read through this thread whilst I've been waiting for my information to arrive from CCCS. You have all given me a little bit of faith that what I am going to embark on is the right decision.
I am not willing to lose my long term partner because of my debt and I think it may have come to this if I didn't start to be honest with him!!!!
I am sure I will post more about the start of my journey when I feel confident to do so but in the mean time a little question.
I have banked with Barclays for ever and CCCS advise that I can continue banking with them on their basic account and they wont take money out of it to pay my 2 x loans, o/d or barclaycard. Anyone got any experience of doing this? As they will be my biggest creditor I am a little concerned.
My other creditors are Egg, Next, Citi, Asda and Halifax all c/c.
I have started to prepare just incase and applied for a Step Account with Natwest.

Am just setting out on a DMP, have sent notice of DMP to all 11 (yes 11 between me & hubby, although some to the same people, e.g. lloyds 2 credit cards & 3 overdrafts!) along with £1 token payments, as yet have only heard from 1, a letter to me from Egg saying if I dont pay the money I owe them (one month loan payment) they will default my account. Will keep you postedLight Bulb Moment feb 2009

Struggling, debts still mounting due to interest & charges :mad:0 -
cheesypuff - Blair Oliver & Scott are inhouse collectors for BoS (Sainsburys, Halifax, etc). Just give them a ring and explain your situation. They should be happy for you to carry on as you are. They can also offer a settlement figure at anytime.
smcshane - I'd setup a new account (Like Natwest for example). This is no time for loyalty I'm afraid (I'd banked with Abbey for 25 years when I left them!).
foolishqueen - I'll sort out a number for you next time I see you on here!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Hiya and welcome,
I agree with Ianmak on this one i'm afriad!
CCCS are wrong on this one, even with a basic bank account. Barclays WILL take your money from this account if you stay with it.
I think nearly all banks have it written into the terms and conditions of the account that they can transfer monies between accounts to pay for late payments etc.
I have a Nat West Step account. It is very good, especially the online banking. You get a Solo debit card with it that you can use in 99% of places. I have had no problems with it.
