Hi - me again!! Does anyone know anything about charging orders? Just been reading a different thread and someone asking about them coming into force this month, is that right? xx

Do you mean those debt relief order things? Don't know much about them!! I think a charging order is a legal thing to do with your house!

hi everyone, hope you're all ok:DI've been getting increasingly hassled by my 3 creditors recently:rolleyes:
.The calls have increased despite me writing to them etc.My mum has offered to help me pay some of the debt off, but can anyone remind me what it's called when you offer them a full and final payment which is less than the full balance, as i've seen it mentioned on here, but can't find it:confused::confused:

Hi Candy girl its an ex-gratia payment! If you follow link to national debt line there are a host of template letters.

Have now heard from Next who have accepted the payments and confirmed they will freeze interest - as long as they receive payment by statement date which I think should work as that is normally end of the month and cccs will pay them on the 25th! Woohoo thanks Next!

Had a letter from A&L stating that they are passing my overdraft to their Debt Recovery Section and will add a fee of £15 for the admin costs of doing this. Whaaat???
Not happy about that especially as the od is at the limit so will they put this £15 admin fee on and then charge over limit fees too? Cheek of it!!

It was a charging order they were talking about, something to do with them being able to put it on any equity in your house, then the loan is like a secured one. (just pannick at the slightest thing!!)

Just been looking at national debtline and the answers are there!!

    Just in case anyone interested!

    Had a letter today.

They've accepted the offer from CCCS. Just 87 payments left to make , should be clear by 2014:eek:

Hopefully that should reduce as other debts clear.

Best bit all interest frozen, figures will start going down rather than staying steady or reducing by a few pounds every months.

Hi candygirl, all I can see earlier in the posts is reduced settlement or partial settlement. But the advice does say that you need to make sure you get it in writing that it is a Full and Final settlement.
Hope this helps will let you know if I come across anything else whilt I am reading! xx
thanks hun, I will investigate this and report back;)

Wow, its bank holiday monday and Sainsbury's cc have started phoning AGAIN!!!! Obviously the term "bank holiday" does not apply to debt chasing eh ? ;)

I know - Nat West rang me yesterday when I was at work!! Rang them back yesterday and the guy was suggesting 'how dare you be out on a bank holiday when you could be paying us!!'

I was like 'er - no, I was at work actually.'

He changed the subject PDQ!!! :p

Things are going unusually well for me. Spoke to GE today who were surprisingly nice, NatWest werent even too bad when I explained the situation. Lowell were being right so-and-so's, my DMP company said that they usually are and there was only a 50-50 chance of acceptance!! I couldnt be bothered with all that hassle for 150 quid so Im sorting them out with the money I get for my night shifts this month. 1 down, 10 to go :p:eek:

Hi everyone, :hello:as you'll see from my signature I'm one of the very early Mutual Support members but i haven't been on here for months. I was spending more time on here than i was with my family so had to take a complete break. I've been logging back into the forums for a couple of weeks now just getting into the stride again. I'm not seeing many of the original members here though - hello Newlywed - but plenty of new ones. I've only looked back over the last couple of days posts so I'll try and catch up with everyone over the next wee while and find out all your stories.

    Glad to be back:rolleyes:

Mrs Ryan, just spotted your signature. My DS has been coming out with a great quote these last three very sunny days - 'It's a smile upon your face day!'. He's 9. :A
