I had an interview with CCCS on Thursday and I am just about to write my first letters to my creditors enclosing my affordable payment as advised by CCCS (The start of DMP?).
I can't seem to get it out of my head that some or all the creditors will reject it and go for enforcement action - county court/bankruptcy etc.
Can anyone help?
Dont worry Easter Bonnet.I have been on my DMP(Via CCCS) for 2 years now and it is highly unlikely they will reject your DMP.There are so many people in the same boat as us that as long as you keep paying them on time each month it is VERY UNLIKELY that they will take you to COURT ETC.
At the end of the day they are just glad to get their money back, even if it does take a long time.
Good luck,

Hi all even more questions....I've been reading through the older posts and have decided to put down full amounts for shopping, clothes, etc on my budget planner, (at least at first to see how I go with no credit!) this means I will be on a low start DMP. Has anyone found the low start plan causes any further problems? xxStarted SW at home 03/01/2014....Valentines day challenge 14lb offWk 1 -9lbs139lbs to go 9lb gone0

in one of the links, there is a template for a letter you could customise and send them. Ive copied it below.
Regarding your threat that a Doorstep Collector will call please be advised that there is only an implied license under English Common Law for certain people to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v. Sheppard and Short Ltd [1959] 2 Q.B. per Lord Evershed M.R.).
Take note, I revoke license under English Common Law for you, or any of your representatives to visit me at my property and if you do so without my permission, you will then be liable to damages for a tort of trespass. You would also be conspiring in a trespass if you sent someone to visit me nevertheless. Any trespassers you attempt to send therefore will be dealt with accordingly including but not limited to, the request of police attendance.
Please also note that having a letterbox on the property does not give you, or anyone working on your behalf, either implied nor expressed rights to enter the properties boundaries consequently any attempt to enter the properties boundaries under the claim of using the letterbox will be dealt with in the manner outlined above.
Furthermore Please take note, for legal reasons, and for of accountability, this matter will be dealt with IN WRITING ONLY from the date of this letter so please be advised, as you have now been informed of this, any further letters simply asking me to call you on a telephone number will be ignored.
If they threaten to use doorstep tactics, get in there with the above legal letter. That way if them, or anyone acting on behalf of them attempts to come to yoru door, you are legally allowed to contact the police and have them removed
Hi I know this is from a while ago but thanks 2spicy this has put my mind at ease! and if anyone has the same fears as me regarding doorstep collections thought it would be good to pull it up!! xStarted SW at home 03/01/2014....Valentines day challenge 14lb offWk 1 -9lbs139lbs to go 9lb gone0 -

I was originally on target for a DMP Clucky but when the interest for a loan was added on it took me over to a low start. I was worried and enquired with CCCS and was informed that the only difference is that a low start DMP means it will take over 10 years to pay.
I don't know about you, but I was paying minimum payments on my cc's which would have resulted in 30+ years of payment so I see a low start DMP as an improvement!!Proud to be dealing with our debts!:jDMP Mutual Support member 269LBM Jan 2009DMP with CCCS 1st May 2009DFD - who knows, but one day! :beer:0 -

Thanks rcpbiggles, that's put my mind at rest! I am paying minimum payments at moment so looking at it that way makes it seem even better!!
I'm just waiting for some of my balance transfers to go through then will be setting wheels in motion with CCCS! (can't believe I have approx £15K of credit still available and I can't afford to pay what I have now, banks are crazy:mad:).

Hi Clucky26, what did CCCS say on transferring debts. Does this affect the DMP being accepted?0

I was on a low start for about 5 months (20 years!), managed to double my payments recently, but it's still a 10 year plan. Not too many problems so far, other than with bank accounts...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430

Long time user of MSE but never really had time to post/follow the boards. I am on a DMP and the relief it has given me has been amazing - I now sleep through the night! Lots of thanks to MSE and CCCS for this.
Now I need to pick your brains....does anyone know what the likelihood is of my creditors accepting a renegotiated DMP due to what you may vaguely call an "unexpected change in circumstances" or rather a bundle of baby joy due in the next 6 months?! I am very worried that I need to be saving and my outgoings are going to go up (we have a flatmate at the moment but they will have to go eventually which will see a rent hike/council tax hike) as well as all the other essentials and when the baby comes by income will go down by 10% ( I am lucky to have good maternity benefits at work). If anyone has any tips/experience of this I would be really grateful if you could share them!
