Just to update those who also have debts with HSBC - HSBC have finally stopped phoning me! Possibly because they have sent me documents about transferring my OD and personal loan into a Managed Loan. I've seen loads of bad press about these loans and rang CCCS for their advice. Counsellor said she would strongly recommend not taking up the managed loan (not least because the monthly payment would be more than CCCS have budgeted for them) as they can lead to all sorts of problems with interest racking up etc. So I'm taking their advice, ignoring the loan offer, which will probably lead to a re-start in phonecalls GRRR  but will likely lead to them transferring my £7k to a DMC, I think it's Metropolis, who are in turn more likely to accept the CCCS offer instead. In the meantime I've got to keep paying my monthly payment.

    Hi guys

Another day, another comedy mobile phone assault by HSBC! Last night I had no signal on my phone and had 10 missed call messages from them (of course no voicemail!) and 2 this morning! I answered the second one and she said they'd accepted and asked if I'd received their paperwork....in other words they haven't accepted and were talking about the managed loan option! I simply told her that everything has to go through CCCS and I cannot enter into individual arrangements with any of my creditors and the lady was actually pretty understanding about it, but who knows whether that means they'll be accepting, or whether they'll actually stop calling!

Just stand your ground with them and say you can't enter into individual arrangements with your creditors....seemed to shut them up for me ;)

Don't mean to be pedantic, but RBS are quite difficult I believe, but BOS (who I think Halifax, Sainsburys et al belong to) aren't too bad. I know, I get confused as well...

Oh right...I never knew they were 2 completely seperate organisations!!

I can finally do this :j:j:j:j:j:j, HSBC have just passed my last bank account to Moorcroft, so that is the last debt where I was still being charged interest.

It's only taken 2.5 years to sort it out and increased my debt by at least another £1K!

Finally the balance will start going down instead of being held steady by interest charges.

CCCS has been phoned and advised so the paperwork is being sent today.

MrsG2B this is within 2 weeks of refusing the managed loan.

    Hi all
I have a quick question, I have just received my notification letter from CCCS, so starting my DMP shortly, what I am not certain about, there is no date of start on DMP on the letter, I have a letter to photocopy & send to my creditors, which has space to write the start date, and a letter to fill in (contract type thing) and send back to CCCS, but there is no mention of a start date on here & nowhere to write one, so how do I knwo when my DMP will start?
I was hoping I could start it in June, reason being we get paid on 15th of the month so March's wages went to paying off a March's debts, so if the DMP starts on 1st may, all of April 15th wages would go to pay the first installment of the DMP, but I have a couple of things to clear up first, a months council tax & a small tax bill to settle and also was hoping to put a little aside for emergencys before starting the DMP

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Its taken 2 and a half years from the start of your DMP to get them to stop interest etc? I hoped it would be much quicker than that! I have just applied for a DMP!!

Come home today to find a letter form egg to say that they have been unable to contact me and that I should contact them to try and arrange a agreement with them. Back in Jan egg sent be a letter to terminate my agreement, and they have already accepted my payment offer to them, so I am in to minds whether to phone them or not to tell them. Why do these companies not know that each dept are doing.

Congrats on getting to the end of it, can imagine its a huge weight off your shoulders!:j

As far as I'm aware you won't have a start date until you send back the contract to CCCS - I sent letters to creditors advising a start date in April, and my CCCS agreement started then too. I would suggest that if you want to leave the start date til June that you send the form back to them as early in May, this way it gives them time to process the form and send you back your confirmation so you can set up a DD to pay them.

    Hope this helps :D
