how ridiculous! having said yesterday (i think it was yesterday) that i've never had a request to fill in a creditors own finance form, I went home at lunch today only to find one in the post from Tesco Card for my husband!!

We've only been on the DMP for 2 (almost 3) months now!! Why are they asking now? they are the ones that haven't confirmed the dmp yet! So i reckon somewhere amongst their fantastic internal communications someone has lost the paperwork! Seems the only explanation!

Will phone pp this afternoon to tell them! Hmph!!

    VanillaDelia,
I send everything to Payplan. But from what i've read on here i don't think CCCS are the same!

Just a quick question on my credit score if I go onto a DMP.

How bad will my score get do you think? I dont really need to worry about it now but in 4 years time I will be looking to remortgage and im worried about how difficult it could make things.

    Cheers

As far as I know the credit score will be trashed for next 6 years or until debts paid if not default put on. As for remortgaging if you stay with same provider (which I imagine you will have to) you will go on whatever rate they give you usually standard variable rate which if like at moment then thats great. Whether you can fix or not I am not sure?

    Hi All

I've been thinking - my credit rating is fine at the moment and I know it's going to be ruined when I start my DMP. I am renting at the moment, does this mean I won't be able to rent anywhere else or buy for the next 6 years??

    I appreciate your advice.

    Thanks

    HI-fellow DMP person!
Ok- credit scores are very hard to understand. I have kept up my mortgage, and the lease on my car, which is not included in the DMP as I need a car for work. If you read some of the forums on the whole issue, lenders read credit reports to assess your past behaviour with regards to loans and credit. So where you are paying regularly, on these and then plus, say your mobile contract etc, another similar provider might see that you have been able to sustain those kind of payments and happily allow you to continue.
However- as far as renting is concerned you may be asked to provide a guarantor, but its not beyond the realms of possibility that you could continue renting. As far as buying- when you owe money elsewhere is concerned, suggest you read Martins:money: comments on saving versus paying off debts- for your own sake this may not be the best time to take on a mortgage commitment.
    I hope this helps.

    Good afternoon,

Received an interesting letter from Aqua indicating they did not have my contact details (home phone, mobile) so could I contact them immediately, blah blah. Odd that as Aqua have called the land line and mobile at least 6 times today alone.......:rotfl:

Should we send all such letters to Payplan or simply ignore them ?

Hi do you mean at the start of the DMP when setting up, or whilst you are on the DMP:confused: . I sent all statements to set up DMP, but didn't think I needed to forward anything after that, just to notify CCCS if the debt was handed over to a DCA for example so they'd know who to pay...................someone correct me if I'm wrong though, still class myself as a newbie at all this DMP lark.:o

    Thanks for the reply cheese.

I currently have a mortgage with Halifax that is fixed for another 4 years. Its remortgaging in 4 years that has me worried. Its so hard to decide what is the right thing to do, do I struggle on month after month or do I start a dmp and potentially ruin my chances of a decent remortgage offer in the future. Head feels likes its going to explode :(
