  • Just wondered if anyone has added a Quick Quid Payday loan to their DMP and if so how did it go with regards to charges, phonecalls etc....?

    Hi

Just wondered the letters that I have received 1 from RMA for my MBNA account and 1 from Aegis for hubby account do I need to send these onto CCCS? I have not been told officially from MBNA that they have passed our debt onto these folk, just received their letters. Are they actually independent DCA's or just a part of MBNA:confused:

    Hi MSC

No-body goes to court with you, you just turn up at the alloted time, no solicitors ets required...One of mine was for £25,000 that we defaulted on so the amount doesn't make a difference either.

Someone from whoever you are against normally comes and has a chat for 5 mins and then you go and sit in front of a judge for literally 3 mins!!.

In both my cases, the oppositions solicitor said that they would do all the talking and they spoke to the judge and all we got aasked was if that was ok with us...no probs cos they normally accept DMP offers at this point (as long as you have sent your redeterminations back etc).

Not fun, but not soul destroying either,

PM me if it comes to court and you need a shoulder!

    Em x

Em - you are a star - thank you so much for putting my mind at rest:T

  • Same with me. CCCS said I only needed to pass on letters informing me that the debt had been transferred to a DCA, so that they can make sure that they pay the correct people.

    Well we survived!!!!

For all of you thinking about starting a DMP then I thought I'd share my experience with you.

Our 1st month of no credit has now been completed. (Payday is the 20th so tomorrow is a new month for us).

LBM moment was the 20th Jan. Contacted CCCS to start a DMP that week and cancelled all DDs etc. 1st real month of budgeting etc. was from the 20th Feb, hence this post.

For the 1st time ever in a long time. I'm not scared to open the mail, I've never had so few letters, the postie must be wondering what's going on. I can answer the phone without dread (no caller ID). And above all DH & I can talk about money without it descending into an argument.

This month we had a proper night out, 2 takeaways (1 as a result of H/O from night out :D ). I've paid for DS birthday pressies and small party (which is tomorrow). Spent too much money on food - must improve on this. Paid all our bills on time without the worry of trying to find the money. And we still have £40 in the bank. Not much I know but I've never had a surplus at the end of the month before.

We all say starting a DMP was one of the best things we ever did and I truly agree with this. The lack of stress and worry has been a huge relief over the last 8 weeks and I can see a good & happy future for my family.

    Becks

Thanks for your post, we are hoping to go onto a DMP very soon, I am dreading it, scared we will be harassed for money or not has any left to survive, so reading your post was lovely, has really helped...thanks

:T thanks bigmommamupet for your post, I too have been trying to scrape every spare penny for DMP, leaving us very short, even thought about selling house (hence leaving us homeless) but why? we have to live and I will try to find some confidence, as I cannot really start over again at my age... thank you all:T

Hi everyone - good to see more newbies

Not much else to say from our house except that i have received my Barclaycard statment today (hubby got his last week) and just like hubby's there is no interest just my 1.00 token payment reduced from last months balance. So although they havent confirmed their acceptance of our DMP i'm hoping this is a good sign.

I'm trying to pluck up the courage to log on to some online accounts and see where we are with the others!!

Ok - so that didnt take very long at all!
Natwest CC has disappeared off my online accounts completelyso have no idea what that means as they rejected my DMP payment offer, loan and o/d are there...no charges on the loan despite them rejecting DMP. O/D has interest plus a 30 quid charge!!!

Mint and Capital One have restricted my access totally and Egg cc are still charging interest and now overlimit fees!

    Evening all.
Payplan rang tonight to query an account number for natwest loan, as they have taken the payment from payplan but are saying they do not know what account the payment is for!!!! (still took the money though!!) I have sorted this out with payplan but remember they did this 3 years ago with the other dmp firm i was with think its just deley tactics they have accepted money for the last 3 years to that account number via my old dmp firm but only a minor blip in the change over, the lady from payplan also informed me they had recived notice from 4 out of the remaining 6 creditors accepting the change over to payplan so things going well.............i think im just so used to this now nothing bothers me!

Someone asked about money for xmas birthdays ect, i put money away each week from my shopping budget as i never spend as much as i am allowed and i also sell on ebay throught the year and leave it in my paypal account, i then buy as much back via ebay and transfer the rest around Nov to make shop purchases. For the last 3 years i have managed to do xmas and birthdays cash, and with 4 kids i never thought that would be possible before the dmp started, they get £60 each on birthdays and approx £250(shop value alot bought cheap via ebay ect but approx amount if bought new, eg they had brand new ps3 last xmas, the look on their faces was brill and hubby and mines too knowing we paid cash!) each at xmas...so that £1240 a year i manage to make save to ensure the kids dont go without and all within the limits of a dmp...........so anyone worrying that lifes stops it doesnt it gets better!!!
