Morning All
Just wondered we have had quite a few letters asking for us to cut up our cards and return them to the cc comany. We have cut them up already but is it necessary to actually post them back to them??DMP Mutual Support Thread No 278

With F+F start at abou t 30% of the debt...tell them the offer is limited to 30 days as the money has been offered you by a family member and the offer will not last long.
Then if they refuse work your way up from 30% of full ballance...crediotrs tend to settle anywhere from 30% -75%.

Not ours.
Barclays said they will only accept 95% of the debt
Mint had the cheek to reply and say they would accept £4000 as "partial" payment of the debt.
A & L / Egg & MBNA said "we are a responsible lender and the amount outstanding is not negotiable" - so were just going to pay them via the DMP over the next 9 years and will book a the last holiday we will be able to afford for a while with the money now we have itLBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Morning all
Thanks for the replies to my queries.
Awaiting our CCCS stuff at the moment, but got all of our token payment letters ready, so feeling very positive.
Had a letter this morning from Northern Rock enclosing a new Direct Debit mandate. The payment isn't due to the first, but it seems the date I cancelled the DD, they sent a new form out. Guess they wont be too happy come 1st April. :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone.

They're separate businesses, so don't worry. I switched to Alliance & Leicester before my DMP started, and MBNA are my biggest creditor and there hasn't been any problems. In fact, MBNA have been sound. Stopped interest & charges straight off and accepted the DMP payment amount, for 12 months. Obviously will wait and see if they turn into ratbags after that though!Smober since 05/12/2008 :j

Hiya,
Got a phonecall from hubby's mint card last night! Enjoyed it greatly (altho always worry after!). I said 'he's not here'. 'when will he be back?' 'couple of weeks' 'can you please get him to contact us' 'i don't understand why you should need to talk to him, we are going through payplan, they have authority to speak to you, please speak to them' 'i can't in this department.' 'well can you not get another department to' 'will you tell him to contact us?' 'i don't understand what reason you should have to need him to' she put the phone down on me! Brilliant!
But i did get worried coz i also received his statement from them yesterday and it says £0 payment to them which is blatantly wrong! even if they sent it before receiving this month's surely last months should be on there!
also i discovered on both of his cards he has payment protection being charged! What are the rules for getting this back?
So I phoned payplan today to tell them and get an update. All have accepted except my Natwest bank and hubby's Tesco (RBS) card. And i can confirm that getting a default DOES NOT mean they stop interest and charges!
Anyway hubby phoned Tesco and Mint to get the payment protection stopped! And Mint who had so urgently wanted to talk to him yesterday said nothing about whatever it was they had to say! Do these people not communicate with each other? And Tesco are claiming they have had NO payment from payplan yet! Which is rubbish because it shows up on the statement!!
So RBS and Natwest are my enemies!!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0
