Finally bit the bullet today and phoned Egg who were.....absolutely useless
Phoned the Collections Department as requested in numerous e-mails, only to be told that they have received my letters and someone from Customer Relations would contact me soon (after they had asked me if I could make a payment today - ummmm....let me think about it..........oh yes that's it.........NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!):rotfl:
No other calls today (apart from a marketing call from La Redoute - was a bit disappointed when I answered - was ready for a fight today!!)
But I did earn my first £1 today from an online survey - which was nice!):j
So - still one down and 7 to go but all in all not a bad day in CM land!LBM - Feb 2009 :money:Debt free - March 2016!

Anyone been getting or heard one of those automated phone calls which start off 'if you are in debt....' ?
I never listen to all of it but it makes a nice change to the 'Miss are you interested in replacing your guttering or fascias?'

I think someone flogs your details to these type of companies.
I used to just ignore them, but now I tell them they've got the wrong number!!!
Anyway, must dash, off to watch Taggart!!!;)

Yesterday my poor old Laptop died and PC World told me to reset the factory settings, it wouldnt stay on long enough to do it. They said if it didnt work to take it back in and pay £40 for check but then I would have to pay more to repair. The poor Laptop was old though and I had had it 6 months second hand for £65. Mum bought me a brand new one today eeek!! so I am only just back online.
Well today in the post I received 2 letters from CCCS to say that my Catalogues wouldnt accept my £5 offers, but yet I didnt understand this as they had accepted £5 from GP when I was with them. Strange!! Oh well they will have to accept them as thats all they can get from me at the moment.0 -
hi everyone,
i recieved 2 emails from egg yesterday saying thank you we have recived your cheques. I think they will not be thanking me when they realise they have £2 for two accounts instead of £128!! no mention of dmp but dont start til may so maybe thats why.
also had bad week as managed to save £300 in not paying debt repayments this month, and now had to spend it on bloomin repairs! so only got next months savings to stash! better get back to ebaying!SAHM getting organised 2010.

I've had a letter from Egg telling me to contact them urgently. They thank me for my payment (which was made via CCCS) and say it wasn't enough to cover the minimum payment (well, durrrr!!). They'd defaulted me already and are making noises about passing the debt on, blah-di-blah.
I've not phoned them, because I've been at Uni classes so don't get home until after their call centre closes, and I'm not going to call them while at work. They know I'm on a DMP, I told them on the phone before it started and they've had a letter, and they've had the first payment from CCCS - should I phone them and just re-iterate that I'm on a DMP? Or ignore them and just let the DMP carry on? Obviously if they pass the debt on, I'll just contact CCCS to give them different details of who to make the payment to. Seems utterly pointless to be writing to ask me to make urgent contact when it's obvious what is going on!
Oh, and as a funny aside - I got home last night to another letter from Egg saying they're not going to renew my card when it expires! :rotfl: Made me laugh!! :rotfl:Smober since 05/12/2008 :j
Proud to be dealing with my debts! :idea:Final LBM (when I actually took the bull by the horns!) 30/12/2008

:rotfl: Evening all! Hope everyone is doing well, really good to see lots of questions and answers, it really does help us all! Really annoyed that the creditors seemed to have forgotten us! WRITE TO US godammit! We aren't scared anymore and want to fight back!
I wrote to Capital One a few weeks ago after receiving my SAR and asked for the true copy of my agreement becuase they had only sent me a blank one, it could have been anyone's! . Had an interesting letter today from Capital One about my ppi; according to them I called them on the 5th of the month to ask for ppi, interesting that my SAR and statements revealed the account was opened on the 17th isn't it? Anyway as a gesture of goodwill they are offering me £100!!
Funny how before I would have snapped their hand off to except but I have calculated over £200 they should refund and I am sick of the way the creditors treat people and so I've already sent it to the FOS to complain/look at so I think I'll write to Ms Renshaw and decline their offer just because I can.
Amamzing what you can do with a SAR request and with the right wording in a letter how the creditors sort of back down and offer your own money back isn't it eh? hmmm
KEEP FIGHTING BACK PEOPLE!! :T (Sorry for shouting!)
oh and thanks to Kudox and Maz for my pms :rotfl: just realised what I wrote!pms = private messages
hope everyone is well, four weeks without the fags and I'm treating myself to a new hairdo tomorrow . Sod the debt this month I need my ends doing! yes they are that bad:rotfl:
take care all xxxx
hiya Toffee Penny
hey glad you are okay after my pms,,,,,:rotfl: oopps me to private message,,,lol
well its a huge learning curve and until you get to that point yourself its hard to what to do for the best
but everyone has to find their own way
but interesting how you get or dont get information that is legally yours from your credit agreement request 1.00 pound and subject access report 10.0 pounds, that information is not sent correctly or if it is, its helpful to you
im learning every day here and from the consumer action group site
self education is the first thing everyone must do for themselves to be better informed. Fortunatley, i do not now second guess what creditors can do, threaten or send to me,,,,i go and find out for myself from these fab forums and from legal sources too
any questions pls feel free to ask,,, im off to see my local councillors, lets see what they know about these creditors tactics and what is the government intending to do about it all,,,,,lets face it they should know a thing or two about bailing out the banks and us taxpayers having to foot that bill
laters all maz have a fun day :beer:Sealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Hi MSC
No-body goes to court with you, you just turn up at the alloted time, no solicitors ets required...One of mine was for £25,000 that we defaulted on so the amount doesn't make a difference either.
Someone from whoever you are against normally comes and has a chat for 5 mins and then you go and sit in front of a judge for literally 3 mins!!.
In both my cases, the oppositions solicitor said that they would do all the talking and they spoke to the judge and all we got aasked was if that was ok with us...no probs cos they normally accept DMP offers at this point (as long as you have sent your redeterminations back etc).
Not fun, but not soul destroying either,
PM me if it comes to court and you need a shoulder!
Em xREMEMBER...ALWAYS KEEP SMILING!
you can win if you want it enough0 -
Well - I'm still sat here waiting for something to happen. All relevant paperwork/token payments (by Saturday) has been sent but no phone calls or letters. Just checked on my internet credit card thing and the account has been suspended (the card has already been destroyed) Is this good or bad news??
