Hi all,
RBS (And we have a few) seem to be our main problem at the mo too! i think they are all still charging!
And i think we are still getting statements. gonna check what we've received and what we haven't received this weekend tho!
(And watch Jade's wedding and the kilamanjaro (sp) thing too!)
On a brighter note, remember me saying about my institution fees, well i finally plucked up the courage to speak to the manager abuot it and the company are going to pay it! i'm so chuffed and so pleased i asked. now i won't be £160 down because of stupid fees!
Also on an unfinacerelated note I'm feeling very positive today! i've been struggling at work and been pretty down recently. as well as my finances one particular work report has been dragging me down and it's going to be GONE today, once and for all!! so I'm so relieved and it's actually lifted so much worry!
And I'm wearing my madonna red nose day t-shirt today which i have to say i love! and have had lots of homemade cakes for charity!

Thanks Ianmac.
I really hope that is the case.
I just don't know anyone who has ever been on a DMP, so not sure how it works at the end.
If the interest does get written off, this will be a godsend. Roll on 2011. It's been a long road so far. Living on such a tight budget is really hard. We have even put off having kids for the past few years, wanting to wait until we can afford it.
But being in our 30's, we're not getting any younger. So i really hope that 2011 is the end of it all.
Thanks again
Mozzy I think what happens is when you get closer to the end of your DMP (presumably the one that shows on your Justabank) that you can call up Payplan and ask them to get a true balance of your accounts. I've just done this and in theory I've got a year left of the DMP. Then you can ask to be refered to their settlements team who will try and negotiate your final payments, which as has been said, could be reduced. Have you spoken to Payplan about your concerns? I've got an email address for my case officer and she's always been very good at responding and calming me down when I get a bit nervous (usually been when I've felt that I will never get to the end of my debts)!LBM Nov 06 -Highest debt £37,000

Hi
Thanks Lovella.
That's what i've been needing to hear - someone who has actually experienced getting to the end and what happens.
I have spoken to my case officer, and she said just that. I just needed to hear it from people who have actually been through it.
Its the lloyds account that is my biggest worry. With all the added interest, we owe them about £6000 more than what the justabank website says. After 3 years, we haven't got very far with them at all.
Thanks again for getting back to me!!!

Well, Weve had an interesting few days.
First of all, 4 missed calls from BarclayCard Loans asking for Mrs Spice. (they dont seem to take on board that when they called on Friday, They were advised she was working away and wouldnt be back until Tuesday!...
She called tuesday and they were closed !
2 Letters from MBNA regarding our Loan account, and an email from Payplan advising MBNA couldnt locate our loan, and could we please provide them with the correct Account Number !! - Thing is, it is the correct number!.
Called MBNA last night ready to tear someone a new hole, only to speak to a loverly chap who was very nice, explained the account was correct, gave me the current owing balance and explained who the account manager was. He then told be all about the proceedure and advised as long as MBNA see reduced payments comming in, they donot take action. He did say that if no payments are made for 5 months, the account is automatically sold off to a third party, but as they had details of our DMP and he could see regular payments, he didnt see there would be an issue.
MBNA credit cards were equally nice too. (we struggled to pay off the arrears on the account before the DMP payments were made, and that has stopped Aegis calling ( 2 weeks now and no calls from them ). so MBNA are happy ( to date!).LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

2spicy - how did you deal with Aegis - did you just go through MBNA or contact Aegis directly. We have two ccs with MBNA (one is mine, one my wife's) both have similar balances but it is only mine that Aegis seem interested in0 -
Hi All
Busy morning in the post, lots of letters. (The amount of paper they go through is shocking) Hubby and I booth got a default each from Nationwide. On reading it, it says that they stop interest for 28 days then apply it at 16%. I thought someone said, maybe you Mr Geoff1 that once a default was issued they stopped interest. Bit puzzling!!
Got letter from Mint asking me to ring and discuss things, not sure whether to bother ringing or not?? Is there any pointDMP Mutual Support Thread No 278

Hi
It was posted earlier that defaults mean interest will stop (by Cocker100 not MrGeoff1), which I followed up saying I didn't think it was true. It isn't true, I checked the following day with Payplan. A default is just a notice on your credit file to say that you have broken the T's and C's. They have to default you before they can take any action against you or sell your debt, but they can still continue to apply interest and charges. A lot of creditors will stop interest/charges when they default you, but they do not have to.LBM : March 2008

Hi cheesypuff I personally wouldn't bother phoning Mint, after all whats the point, when they say "discuss things" they probably mean pay us more!
Plus I also have had defaults on several of my accounts and am still being charged interest, so it's not automatic whether they will or not.
Depends what side of the bed they got out of that morning:rotfl:
