I have experience with Vanquis, Aqua and Capital One. They all stopped interest and charges with little fuss and I'm only paying them a total of £15 a month between them off a £1096.22 debt. :j
how do you pay that little? some much be well under £300. I pay £15 just to barclaycard for a £497 debt, £5 to lloyds for £158 debt and £7.50 to Lowell for £205 debt.
You much have some other big creditorswho you pay most to

Ricbro,
I nearly got taked into an IVA - the woman was very convincing on the phone and would have been paying back a lot less BUT they are my debts and want to sort them out as best I can. Thank god I read Martins info about IVA's and decided to go on the CCCS website - then got approved for a DMP. Its got to be better from a creditors point of view to go with a non-fee paying body?? One question is - I haven't really defaulted on my debts up until next month after I've cancelled DD's (which I'm in the process of) Is this going to look good/bad or affect anything?

All direct debits and standing orders now cancelled. Just waiting for the paperwork to set up the new bank account and then I can sort out wages to be paid there at the end of the month. If it doesn't look like I can get it sorted in time my mum has said I can get my wages paid into her account for the time being. Just one thing with this - she is at A & L which was my previous account - should this create a problem??

Hi all, we are getting ready to enter in to a DMP, I've spoken to a couple of people, 1 a charity and 1 a private firm, I have arranged a phone call with Payplan for tomorrow (who incidently seem favourites) the private firm has told me to stop paying all of my creditors immediately, as this will endorse that I have a problem, would I be right doing this before my DMP is under way?
Cheers
DO NOT GO TO THE FEE CHARGING FIRM
I did this for 3 years and have paid over £2500 in fees in that time...this is money that could have gone off my debt.
The fee paying firm told me the same to not make another payment from the first phone call i had with then..which of cause i didnt...but now 3 years 2 months later and now with payplan i can see that alot of the phone calls i had at the start was due to the crediotrs not getting so much as a toekne payment or letter and had to wait 2 months for the first payment via the fee paying firm as they take your first months payment in full as a admin fee meaning 8 weeks before your creditors get anything and then the fees continue each month
GO WITH CCCS OR PAYPLAN PLEASE:DProud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Thanks Suze, Co-op bank accounts were opened last week, just waiting for the details to come through then we can arrange payments (hopefully to Payplan), it just feels wrong not paying - even though I've been paying them with credit card money for too long!!DMP support thread member 283

Thanks everyone for their opinions, they have been really helpful, I did the 'payment test' with Payplan and by using them I will pay off my debts 28 months and a few grand less than with a fee paying firm.DMP support thread member 283

Just had the paperwork through for my co-op bank account, which is good as I'd been refused by a couple of others and was panicking a bit. The co-op seem to be a good shout for a definite account if you are in the poo?
HSBC are my main creditor and I am about to move all my standing orders away. I assume that I will have to leave that account open for the time being whilst they continue to go through the charade of trying to take my loan and credit card payments out?0 -
Hi Folks
Having been lurking for a while, and finally decide to join in. My situation is I have debts of 41,000 (joint) and have gone ahead on Friday and started a low start DMP with CCCS:T. I have a few questions some might be a bit silly but bear with me please, only new to all this.
When making token pyts of £1.00 do I just go into post office and buy 12 postal orders and take them home and enclose with the letters? or do they have to be filled in at counter? (Never bought a postal order before)
Is there a charge for postal orders?
Can I track them?
Got my pack from CCCS and got a bit scared at the taking to court bit, has this happened to many people on here?
I am able to claim back bank charges while on a DMP?
I have opened a basic account with Co-op no debit card just an electron, will I now not be able to buy anything on line? I am thinking when I purchase insurance etc... they usually ask for a dep and I now have no cheque book or debit card, what do I do?
These are my creditors, what is others experiences of any of them?
