We've got £340 for 4 (I'll be increasing it to 400ish when the new baby comes, CB/CTC should cover most of the extra so the DMP amount won't go down). I wanted to get the DMP under 10 years so cut back there. We actually spend 220-240 so that's where our 'emergency extra' money comes from & have been living on nothing for such a long time that £340 feels generous! My MIL gets us an organic veggie box every 2 weeks so that's mainly what we eat :rotfl:
CCCS have said they'll take a letter from my employer instead of an actual payslip but I still think it is unlikely that it'll be up and running for April ... hope we make it to May without ending up in court (Mr Optimistic here)
Hope everyone has a good (cheap) day ... it's good to see the thread so busy!

Yes, our monthly food allowance as detailed by Payplan on our DMP is £439.00 per month which I origionally thought was a little low, but even with a 2 1/2 yr old boy to contend with is ample food (were not even on the real "value" brands yet!(ADSA Spartprice for us all the way!))

Well, time for me to come clean...I have this very evening taken a phone call from my dad who has a new lever arch file for me!!It is boring black but am going to cover it with some lovely paper, toying with idea of sticking pics of Colin Firth all over it and then when it lolls on sofa with me of an eve will be perfect man-doesn't answer back and looks after all my debts!:rotfl:
Morning all!
I'm still ploughing my way through this thread but loving the Lever Arch files.... I've got plastic wallets in rainbow colours with each creditor written on the front with a Sharpie pen!! (Nothing but the best!..... though DH gets Sharpies free from work)
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU!! to everyone on here :kisses3: ! I'm still a way from making my first DMP payment (aiming for 1st May due to delays with a new account) but I know I'm doing the right thing.
Went into Natwest Branch yesterday and set up our new Step accounts - and paid some money in :T . Just waiting for the cards and I will transfer everything over!
Being the worrier that I am, if we get taken to court by any of our creditors, do we actually physically have to go to court? _pale_ _pale_ _pale_ Brings me out in shivers just thinking about it.
Does anyone have any experience with Lloyds? We have o/d and cc with them....
Anyone for a cuppa? It's freezing here....Proud to be dealing with our debts!:jDMP Mutual Support member 269LBM Jan 2009DMP with CCCS 1st May 2009DFD - who knows, but one day! :beer:0 -
Morning all
We have a food allowance of £400 for 5 of us. We do sometimes struggle a bit on this amount but I think that because of the 2 growing teenagers with their humungous appetites!
Well, I am enjoying my second day free of phone calls from HSBC so it looks like they are going to keep their word.Debt free Olympic Contender # 134DMP Mutual Support Thread member # 250DMP March 2010 [STRIKE]£9786 [/STRIKE] now £9900 -

Hi All,
Another not good day for me!! Can't remember if i'd told you about my professional institution fees!! But anyway i didn't pay them last year coz i didn't have the spare £160 to pay to wait to get the expense back! Then i changed jobs and just thought i would have a year off paying and go back to it this year (this new compnay pay too). But no one told me that you can't miss a year and you have to pay! ANyway, in Jan i paid what i thought was this year's subs only to discover that in fact that was last year's and i had to pay another £168 for this year! BUT they didn't take the first lot of money out of my account! So i kept quiet and hoped they woudln't figure out their mistake. i paid this year's this week and i thought that was that coz the other payment still hadn't showed up!
WELL i looked at my account today and ithere's less available than i thought there should be and it looks like they've realised their mistake and have taken the money now (no warning)! I'm so annoyed! I can't afford that money! i tried to apply for reduced fees and explained my situation but they refused! So now I'm £160 (£328 until the expenses come back) down and it's ruined the budget! luckily (i suppose) i have a bit of extra in the bills accout from not having to pay council tax the last couple of months! but i was hoping that would stay there for proper emergencies, not a stupid subs for a few letters after my name and a couple of magazines!!!!!!!
Do you think i can complain about no one telling me at any point that I would have to pay and also them taking it out now without warning??
Also, blooming Natwest have taken another charge out!! Not sure what this one is for but i assume it's for the paypal payment (of £2.27, they've charged me £35. F**king con artists) so I am now £90 over my £4000 overdraft with them and i can only see it getting worse coz they are still only going to get their £60something payplan payment!
So not a good day to be quite honest! Why is nothing going in my favour right now!! I'm doing everything I personally can (I cancelled my night in london on sat today too! Gutted!) to help myself but things keep happening to throw a spanner in the works! (And I'm having a !!!!!! day work wise. i came in with such good intentions only for all this plus a computer not logging me in to scupper me!!!)
Sorry rant over! And breath!!
I changed my expenditure over the phone but i got an email with the justbank details while it was all getting put through!
Oh I think my food budgt is £160 per month! that's for 2 of us, altho hubby is only home 1 week out of 4! (might have to buy a lever arch file in tesco next shopping day! hide it in that budget!!)
