Actually just read through what I wrote and it sounds like Judges in wigs will be there, I'm wrong sorry.
I think you take your papers to court which includes a full breakdown of income and expenditure, Judges are not even there instead you go to a lady in a booth who will photocopy all your papers.
That's it!
You wait to receive a letter if your proposed payment has been accepted and start making payments. It's all done by post.DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
Morning all!
Just wanted to echo what everyone else has said. For the first time in years I actually have £1,500 savings!!! Seems really odd but CCCS advised me to make token payments and due to me moving the date of my mortgage repayments from 1st of Month to 28th of month I find myself in this situation. All seems very surreal
It's funny but in the past I would be thinking 'oh I've got 1.5k, what can I do with that', now I'm thinking 'oh I've got 1.5k, how long until I can make it 2k?' :j
Well done you! :T We'll know who to ask to lend a tenner now!DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
So long as everything is genuine, if evrything has gone through a DMP and that is all you can reasonably afford, the courts will take all that into account. the only issue is that all the standard I&E forms have allowances and some people claim them even though they don't use them, if you know what I mean. If you haven't got it they can't have it. At the end of the day you still have to pay rent/mortgage, fuel and food.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Good afternoon lovely peeps!
I am on my lunch break at the moment. I made myself a packed lunch today (very proud turning point in my life!) lol! No more buying lunches for me. I am trying to make as many little cut backs as possible now to increase the DMP payments i make to my creditors.
Just been reading a few CCJ threads. I didn't realise that even if you were securely on a DMP and your creditors had agreed to the original payments, that at any point the could decide that didn't suit them anymore. I'm all worried now.

Thank you all again

Hi everyone,
just to let you know that my DMP starts 1st March, but I had had a letter today and Alliance and Leicester have accepted the reduced payment (till July 09) offered by CCCS. Even though this is my smallest debt (around £800) its still 1 out of 14!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 1145DMP mutual support thread member: 264

No probs, it really is hard not to worry, here's me telling you this like I know what's its all about, if I had court papers through I would start blacking my windows out in case the baliffs were coming!
Anyway I really MUST get off here, my lad shouting at me to go to the shops, I nagged him over an hour ago to get ready I wanted to go out etc and then thought I'll pop on the net, have a look on MSE.
This place is great but once you on that's it for an hour or so, time flies when you browsing the net doesn't it? Oh well I'll be back at work Tuesday wishing I was off again half term  so I am enjoying the break while it lasts.
But I got to go my poor love will get a sore throat!

Hi to everyone, especially the newbies.
Not added many updates recently, but reached a milestone yesterday - My DMP was 1 year old.
Was a bit worried as I had my 1 year review with Payplan, but it was fine. Just went through my SOA increased a few things and reduced a few, then had a brief dicussion on how things are going. Finally discussed an increase in payments when my payrise goes through next month.
My debt free date is now showing as less than 4 years
Generally my DMP is going well. Most of my 15 creditors have stopped of reduced interest only Lloyds and Barclaycard are still charging full interest. 6 debts have been passed to DCAs which all immediately stopped interest and accepted payments.
Only 2 creditors have been a pain.
Lloyds - Mainly due to the fact they don't seem to have a clue what they are doing, don't seem to be able to recall any letters of phonecalls and don't seem to have any recollection of me being with Payplan, despite the fact that Payplan have an acknowledgement from them!
GE Capital Bank - Suddenly decided not to play nice after 12 months and started playing the "we've heard nothing" game. Sent them all my details by Special Delivery and got a readable signature, one phone call later and that was sorted (One debt got passed to DCA, the other got accepted for another 6 months.
Other than that all is going well, I'm mangaging on my budget (although it's tight sometimes) but I do love the fact that my spending is under control and to be honest I don't seem to want to spend as much as I used to anyway.
So to everyone new and just starting out, good luck, hang in there. You really have done the right thing starting a DMP. I don't receive many letters at all now and apart from the odd follow up type call from DCAs (who have been OK), I rarely receive calls.
When I look at the state I was in this time last year I can honestly say my life has changed.LBM : March 2008

Afternoon all.
Back from the park..in profit!! Long story but woman a video rental store messed up and i ended up with 3 dvds for £1..plus she gave me free rental voucher back so thats still valid!!! So all kids sat happy after their walk at the park. Plus called at local store to top up my electric card for metre..put £5 on but when iv just put it in metre they have added £50 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So £45 free elec for me!! I cant belive how lucky iv been today..but it is my birthday tommorow so im looking at it as an early b/day pressie!! lol
Regards court papers..yes iv been here, i didnt even attend court even though i could have done my dmp company filled in paperwork for me and sent it off, i got a letter not long after the court hearing saying that after considering my finaical statment payments had been set lower than what they were getting to start with!!
Please dont worry..just make sure all the paperwork is back on time to the courts, you have been on the dmp long enough for the courts to see you are serious about paying your debts back, so i cant see there will be any problem at all, they will see from your finacial statment that you are paying what you can afford and because cccs/payplan go along with goverment guildlines for budgets this is what the courts would use to and see you are not being allowed more than you need, no court in the land will make you pay more than you can aford especially with a dmp in tow.:D
