Morning everyone i used to be a regular on this thread at one time but i havent been on for a while . My DMP is with CCCS which are excellent but i now wish and feel confident enough to go it alone with my DMP .I just want to feel in control myself of my payments . Is there anyone on here doing there own DMP i just have one query how do you make your payments to creditors ? do you have a DD or standing orders set up .
Thanks everyone your all a great bunch
I do my own DMP and I pay by internet banking each month. I have not set up a DD or standing order with anyone, at the moment. I know that I should set up a standing order but at the moment I am just paying them the first week of each month.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Hiya well done on getting so far, i have just one question, why do you wish to move away from cccs?
By going it alone you are doing just what they are doing but obviously have to pay each creditor individually instead of just one payment to cccs. Plus i have been told by some of my nicer creditors when i was considering going it alone that there was more chance of interest starting to be applied again.
I explained i was changing over froma fee paying company and was either going to payplan or going to do a self managed dmp...the advise i was given was
"go with payplan as i can almost guarentee you that interest will stay stopped if you do, but go it alone and we more than likly will start adding interest again"
Hence why im with payplan now.

Iv just had a phone call from a debt illimination company!!! LOL What a load of rubbish...claiming they will get rid of all my debts for a fee of...£950!!!
I led the poor guy along for a while and asked lots of questions..then when i asked how the fee was to be paid he said we add it to one of your credit cards that we are going to get the debt wiped on for you!!!!!!!
I then said oh this may be a problem as im on a dmp and havent got my cards anymore!! It threw him slighty but then said oh we can take the payment in other ways!!!! I BET THEY CAN!!!
I then told him i wasnt interested as im a fan of moneysavingexpert and have read nothing on there...his reply...oh good old Martin i like his site to and yes thinking about it there is nothing on there about this sort of thing!!!!
I thought he was ment to be selling it to me..that just made me 100% sure this is a load of old rubbish!!!
He did say at te end of the call, thank you iv learnt something new tonight, i asked what, he said that not everyone i am going to ring isnt going to have a clue what they are on about..you just proved that as you know more than me PML LOL LOL.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Evening all! I'm still ploughing away with getting all my letters together. I've got everything ready for CCCS, I've completed the forms to creditors to advise them I'm on a DMP and the plan number, I've got my postal orders ready, and I've written out the bulk recorded delivery forms to send everything. Just need to complete my letters offering token payments until the DMP kicks in. I suppose its my own fault for having so many creditors but this is beginning to full like another full time job completing all the paper work
.
Phew this is even more exhausting work than running up the credit card bills in the first place! :rotfl:
I'm sure all this work will be worth it when my DMP is up and running - phew!Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie, and a single mother of one.
I've read through tons of posts and everyone sounds so nice and supportive!
I have just started my DMP with CCCS, and i have to say i am feeling very nervous! I know it is a huge step in the right direction but it's making sure i don't put a foot wrong again. I'm definitely a 'head in the sand' type of person, so it has been such a challenge for me to face up to the phone calls, the letters etc...
It seems like clearing my debts is a life time away. But one of the things i will definitely start doing is writing down what i spend so that hopefully i can stay under budget and put some away so that i can hopefully increase my payements at a later date.
MBNA haven't accepted the payment CCCS have offered but they are going to carry on paying it. Fingers crossed i can increase it at some point soon.

Evening all!
My last post said about creme eggs all round, sod that!Have you seen the price of them? Tesco robbing bast.....:D I think I'll wait a bit longer to buy some but they do look lovely in their boxes on the shelf. I hate all the crappy packaging you get with them though, so disappointing when you buy a big box and get a tiny egg inside. Did anyone see GMTV the other day? They were on about packaging and waste.
I am getting paranoid now too!
I think I will have to find another Post Office to go to you know, I think the guy who works there must think I fancy him and I just make excuses to buy £1 postal orders and £10 postal orders every few days and send a load of letters each week special delivery just so I can see him! :rotfl:
I am so set on beating the creditors I'm turning into a woman-on-the-edge over this ppi reclaiming. I think I need to chill out a bit! It's costing us a fortune!

I second what you say about setting yourself a goal dlb and I too went a bit mad with the credit card for our last holiday.
It starts out booking a holiday and then you both sit down and convince yourselves you can really afford it and you will save x amount of pounds after each payday for holiday money, yeah yeah  (all you lot thinking 'oh yeah we did that!')
We put £2000 on one credit card JUST for our holiday money!! What the heck were we thinking? It was only Spain for god' sake and we didn't even think it was that brilliant either; too many Spanish at the hotel! :rotfl:

Guys,
You have all been hot on the post today. Great motivation!:A
I had my call with Payplan and DLB you were right they were great!
I am going to go ahead with them and they said I should get everything in the post in the next few days. CCS pack is also on its way too???
They advised my start date was going to be April!!! It seems ages away…
Payplan said that I need to open ANOTHER account….
YES…. you do recall that I just opened a new one with Natwest last week. Apparently they have a link with Tesco one of my credit cards and was advised not to use it!!!!
HSBC is now on my hit list, she said that will be ok ….I hope so....
Penny I’m going in the branch again in order to speed things up….cover me.
As the BACS payment for my work has already been sent, I will be swiftly withdrawing my cash on pay day by ALL available means!!! (Thanks MSC1977 + DLB).
April seems ages away, I hope that my creditors will not get annoyed with the delay.. What do I do with the extra money that is going to be on my account as a result of no cc / loan payments going out…?
Should I be increasing my token payments…how much? Or leave as is?
Can I for the first time in donkey years put some money aside for the rainy days ahead…..can I really?
Funny, I don’t think its hit me. Why am I not jumping for joy? I’ve been so stressed and wound up recently that perhaps I think something bad is going to go wrong and the creditors are not going to accept the reduced payments…..so I’m trying to hold on. At the same time this is major progress.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel much better than I did yesterday .......but when does the true sigh of relief and feeling of peace kick in…..perhaps it’s not until the 1st April when all have accepted and the first payment goes out....
I now know why you guys on here count down the days before dmp start date….
Sorry for rambling on…..let me just enjoy this moment instead of worrying about the next step...thanks ALL for your help sofar.
I am going to try and sleep through the night....
HopeTRMD

Hi,
There's no need to do this!
My new account is with Nat West and I too have a Tesco card as one of my creditors.
Nat West is owned by RBS who also control Tesco credit cards.
BUT, both Nat West and RBS have separate banking licenses and therefore RBS(Tesco) cannot touch your money in your Nat West account. (At least as long as they remain with seperate licenses).
My DMP has been up and running for nearly 18 month now and they haven't bothered me at all. In fact, they have been one of the more understanding creditors and froze all interest and charges pretty much straight away!

Good morning all!
Welcome to all the newbies and thank you to all the oldies!:A
I can't believe how much posting has been going on, it's great isn't it. It seems to be all systems go for many of us fairly newbies, let's do it!!:j
I'll try not to think so much today, yesterday wasn't one of my better days, hence so many posts! I blame half-term, too much time at home to think!.....roll on Monday! LOL:rotfl:
Good luck to all of you
Keep the support going
