Some of you are vultures

I can't quite see why vultures are so bad, actually. The perform a useful function.
They are immune to bugs such as cholera, e coli and botulism, and when they eat dead meat which contains these bugs, they remove them from the environment. Without them, bloated carcasses would hang around longer.
There has been a big fall in vulture numbers in India (about 90% in the last decade) and this has meant far more rats and dogs scavenging. They are prone to spread diseases such as rabies. Fewer vultures are a Bad Thing.
Some people in India have sky funerals - dead bodies are put on tall towers for vultures to eat down to the bones....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I'm sure you do think all that;) Being a heartless vulture is a great thing to be.:D I'm sure that's why so many posters on here appear to have such an active social life!0 -
So it's better to have fewer vultures, and more cholera, botulism, and rabies?
Oh well....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Actually, the only 'ordinary' people who have influenced house prices are the HPI bunch. They bought at ever increasing prices, ensuring that demand stayed strong. Strong demand pushed prices up, end of. Demand has now stalled and prices are settling down. Renters are mainly people who couldn't afford to buy at top prices, some chose not to, are you saying they 'should' have bought, so that prices stayed high?....my child, when there were only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.0

Just as a point of interest, when was the election that saw you nominated as the spokesperson for this silent majority of "many posters"? I didn't get a chance to vote, is all, and I don't want to miss the next round of elections.
Also, just how many is "many"? Is this like "in tests, 8 out of 10 MSEers who expressed a preference said their bank manager preferred HPI?"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
I am shocked at the way a lot of you are laughing and rubbing your hands with glee at the house price crashes. Don't you realise that there are a lot of ordinary people who have lost everything
This all gives me the uncomfortable feeling that there is going to be a hpc bloodbath in the next few months. Don't get me wrong I feel sorry for first time buyers but there seems to be a lot of opportunistic greed on this forum.
I wouldn't worry, the people who have bought houses recently should be soon able to sit back on their low interest loans with govt protection if they run into problems. One thing I am sure about is, the people on here had no influence whatsoever on the housing market:D If they get lucky and pick up a cheap house it will be more luck than judgement, even then 70% falls :rotfl:'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
