But wouldnt anyone really be a vulture if they were actually buying?
Im not seeing THAT many people picking over the bones yet... and nor are the EAs? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I am shocked at the way a lot of you are laughing and rubbing your hands with glee at the house price crashes. Don't you realise that there are a lot of ordinary people who have lost everything? For you to be able to buy a repossession means financial ruin for some other unfortunate person and they have lost everything including their home through the sheer bad luck of trying to buy at the wrong time.
This person no doubt paid more for their house than the knock down price that you will pay so why do you deserve to have it rather than them? You are profiting off the back of other people's misfortune. You are trying to make out that everyone who has bought in the past is full of greed and is trying to price first time buyers out of the market. This is not true. There are many ordinary people who have struggled with mortgages for years.
This all gives me the uncomfortable feeling that there is going to be a hpc bloodbath in the next few months. Don't get me wrong I feel sorry for first time buyers but there seems to be a lot of opportunistic greed on this forum.
All this is so true. Don't worry you are not alone in the way you view the posters on this board. The HPCers will gang up against you and attack you like a pack of wolves. Don't worry you are right about them.
The thing that makes me laugh is that they seem to think they are immune downturn and they're are not. Don't know who will be feeling sorry for them when they fall on hard times?
Anyway, they are totally committed to their view of the world and you will not budge them. Completely heartless.0 -

There are always 2 sides to a trade and a "lot of opportunistic greed" from people buying house at over inflated prices has caused this country to go into a death spiral.
Now imagine that you bet agianst the croud and everyone told you, that you where wrong or bonkers, how would you feel.
Anyway take a look at this graph and see if you can find yourself on it
I did some research before I went to buy back in 2004 and found out about bubbles and cycles. It was impossible for me to buy as I knew we where in a bubble but I was not sure where in the cycle we where. Now I know where I am I can confidently purchase around mid 2010 as we will be in the blow off phase.
Having sat at those god awfull dinner parties where mrs thicki is going on about how wonderfull it is that houses in her street are still going up. Now it is my dinner party and you are all welcome drinks on me. :beer:0 -
I have no "ire" i dont worry one way or the other what house prices do i bought in 1992 and have moved once increasing my mortgage by £500 so unless the wheels really come off the wagon it wont make a jot of difference how far prices fall The usual suspects i refer to are the greedy people who are waiting to buy a house at the loss of another forced to sell at a loss.
Dont deny they arent on here every other post is with glee at the falls houses down 50% or 30% or 80% depending on whatever drivel you read or website you search.
None of these losers have bought a house they are all renters from somebody who has bought a house.
Whats the saying non players off the green ?
You seem to have a lot of anger and resentment, for someone who has no ire.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

How we cried, stood at the dock as the Titanic sailed off into the sunset, bon voyage my friend.0 -

You should be focusing your anger on those who artifiicially inflated house prices like the government, BoE, estate agents, buy to letters, TV property rampers, etc.Krusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:
"Buy now because house prices only ever go UP, UP, UP."0 -

Missing the point again? How convenient.....0 -
There are a couple of vultures on this board, thats all though, most are people that can put two words together and have a view about something. The fact that alot of them rent is because its usual to watch out for something that is of interest to you.
I own a house, so I'm not that bothered what happens to house prices, but I am very interested, both from a historical/monetary respect and for those people that couldn't have their own home before.
My life would have been very different had I not been able to buy 10 years ago at a reasonable price.
Now, I've also worked very hard at it and paid off my mortgage, which means I'm now (at 38) very well off in real terms, although I don't own anything flash, most of those on here are the same and will be the same when they own property. I've watched with disbelief folks around me getting into huge debt in the last ten years and wondered where it would all end. Well here we are.
Does it make me a vulture to be interested in these things? NoFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Heard all that before. Until I found out that most posters on this board are actually greedy BTLers looking for their next purchase or people who are extremely rich looking to buy their next £1million property.
So tell me how many properties do you own?0 -
Some of you are vultures
And some of you are ostriches, and so the circle of life is complete
I have noticed more of the "fluffy kitten" brigade seem to have migrated over here since the board went national, and they seem to be against what I see as healthy debate0
