    Hi Firefox

Hope you wake up feeling better and that Noah brings some comfort. Lula's right, this is the start of your new life

Be kind to yourself for a few days, indulge in whatever you fancy - even crying if it helps.

    Take care of you :A

I'm glad Noah has come out of hiding and hope he settles in soon.

It will probably take a while for your budget to settle this month with 2 big changes happening in your life. Keep doing your best and it will all settle down again as you get into a routine with Noah and once the initial expenses are cleared.

You need time to grieve now it has actually happened and only you can know what you need to do. Sometimes you need to let the emotions out before you can move on- sometimes you need to reclaim some of the things that you like doing for you just to remember who you are. Next grocery shop make sure you buy anything you stopped getting because OH didn't like it etc. I tend to snuggle up with my blankie and a funny film or inspiring book (Lucky Man by Michael J Fox).
Wish I could actually do something to help. Virtual hugs x

  • Some good advice Jellie :)

It will take time and it does hurt like hell but you are strong and you will get through this. Take your time and do whatever you can to help you move through this. Be it spending time snuggled up with a good book and Noah (when he comes out), setting yourself little goals or arranging to see a friend...Small steps, a day at a time xx

Thanks all for your lovely words, it really helps that you all care. :( It's Mr. Fire Fox's birthday today and he texted me saying he'd see me on my birthday, lots of love and kisses which he never normally bothers with.

Noah has cat_love.gif with me three times today and was very excited by his fishy breakfast. He has just retreated under the sofa after I opened the windows to let some fresh air in and a bus pulled up right outside, engine running. I'm leaving the windows open tho as it's quieter on a Sunday than any other day.

Back on topic I have been out and spent another £9 on cat litter, a pooper scooper and some wet food.

Hi Fire Fox, thought I would come and return some of your kind words and thoughts that you gave me during my dark days a couple of months ago. I found it frustrating to hear the words "time is a good healer" but it really is true. It is really hard right now, but the important thing is that you surround yourself with good people (or cats) and talk when you feel like you need to. The guys on here are clearly fantastic for that, nothing is going to make this easy, that is the nature of the beast, but there are lots of people that will want to see you happy again so hopefully we can help make that happen for you. Always welcome to say hello over on mine and of course I will drop in and check up on you soon.

    Hey Fire Fox,

It will get easier. An alternative method of deaing with the pain is to make yourself to wallow in misery for a few days. It is kind of masochistic but helps to really force the feelings out. Get out any photos, memetoes etc & pore over them while listening to any pertinent songs & wearing clothes or jewellery that were gifts or bought for marking occasions. Really really wallow, howl & blub. I did this once & after 3 days I'd had enough of feeling miserable & wanted to be happy again. It's like speed grief, for those who are unhappy but want to get that bit over & done with so they can move on. I dont mean to be callous or flippant at all, just offering a different perspective.

On a lighter note, I'm glad to hear that Noah is making himself at home & has been cuddling up to you :D

Enjoy indulging yourself in whatever way serves you best

    Lula

    Hey Fire Fox

I'm glad you're feeling a little better today. It won't be easy and it'll take time, but you will get there.

It sounds like Noah is starting to settle in. He was probably just getting to grips with his new surroundings. Even your smilie is the same colour as Noah!

    Take care of yourself

I love the smilie with the white cat too! Noah has graduated from the top of the unit to next to me on the sofa, which is a problem as a white cat on a white background doesn't make a good photograph.

Spent £70 I don't have at Maximuscle (four for the price of three, free delivery) going through Topcashback for a 10% return. Should have got £6 off the order which Maximuscle have promised to refund to my bank account, and a £6 voucher off my next order. :money: £6 PetPlanet cashback has tracked fine!

Also spent £20 I don't have (are you seeing a pattern here?) booking a fitness workshop/ convention as I need more CPD points.

Only spending today has been £2 on two recorded delivery letters, one asking for a refund on my TV license and the other paying service charges up to the end of the year. Cashed in some of the ex-Mr. Fire Fox's lottery tickets and scratchcards for £25, so I now have enough money to last until payday! :T
