Hi guys!
How's us?Everyone ready for Christmas?
I am full of unbridled joy, (), at the thought of turning my kitchen full of Delia Smith style works of art and the house into something you see on a coca cola advert! Not going to happen like that though, is it?
Don't worry, I'm not being a grinch guys - I love Christmas. No, it's just that I'm still wearing the battle scars from shopping in town yesterday.
You know, I didn't know elderly people could move so fast! I'm too naieve - you see, today's senior citizens were throwing themselves around the dance floor doing the jive in their youth, (and maybe even now!Now that's a mental picture I didn't want!!!
) - and most could still qualify for the Olympics judging from the manoeuvres I saw yesterday.
Having said that, once the Tiffster decides on a battle plan then I take no prisoners!
May I respectfully suggest that anyone who is daft enough to be thinking of venturing out into the foray today, should try and go out in packs and also be heavily sedated. And don't even think of going to a supermarket today - whatever you want is all gone!!!
Be careful out there guys!
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -
Hi toast!
How's you today, angel?
Congratulations to you and your wife on expecting a baby.I'm glad that you're in a stable situation re. work, debts etc. You can't buy peace of mind can you, hun?
I also think it's wonderful that you have such good insight into your own depression.
The symptoms you mention can be part of the annual Christmas mayhem, as well as SAD and it being a very pressured and emotional time of year, but I do agree with you angel. The constant stream of negativity and tbh, horror that flows from our TVs just on the news channels alone, is enough to make a Samaritan jump!I know it's ''news'' but surely there has to be good news out there too? It is important to be aware of the status quo I know, but I have stopped watching the news and I don't buy newspapers because it can trigger experiences I have had or because I have a tendency to empathise too much.
Maybe the broadcasting companies - and the government! - should be sent on a psychology course because when times are hard, the last thing you need to hear is that they're going to get much harder and that every crime under the sun is on your doorstep.I'm surprised that they haven't started issuing 18 certificates to these news shows sometimes!
Sorry about the rant guys.
Ok toastie, you made me do this so can you help me down please?Safe journeys hunnie.
Much Love,

Hi pilla!
How are you this morning hunnie?
Well done you on getting your Christmas shopping all done - you're quite entitled to stuff yourself as much as you want as a reward!I hope you'll enjoy Christmas Day at work on the ward, pilla and I'm sure your patients will appreciate you being there.
Sorry your bf will be away on quite exotic travels hun, hopefully for good reasons. I'm sure he'll bring you something nice back. And don't you worry about the feminism side of things - we tend not to do stereotypes here.
pilla wrote:Wow, thanks everyone for giving me such an amazingly warm welcome.....not! God, if you're all just some sort of clique like those snooty girls at school,(newcomers not welcome!) then I'm off, I'm clearly not missing much here! To not even acknowledge someone, or just say "Hi" after they've stated they're new.....may aswell be invisable. Nevermind.......I'll live.
I'm sorry you felt like that angel. As our lovely, lovely gem said, I did welcome you - and still do.I did say that they'd all be back to welcome you once they were sober, er, back from church - and 'lo, it came to pass'!
This thread is unique in many ways and one of them is that the posting here runs the whole gamut; you'll possibly have a day where only a couple of people post and then others where you can't get a word in edgeways. It may take a few hours but don't despair hun, there's always someone who'll come along sooner or later, to check if they can help, hug or to post themselves.Of course, if you throw in the Christmas survival campaign that we all undergo, then posts come along as soon as the medication kicks in.
Another unique side to this site is that there really aren't any cliques here. Purely to do with the very nature of this thread, it would have folded up long ago if there were cliques - and we're now on Thread Home No.10. Many here know what it's like to be on the outside of a clique and I've never seen anyone turned away from here hunnie. On some threads, the rottweillers would have been out by now to have a go at your last post, so I hope all the welcomes and hugs have reassured you sweetheart, that you really are most welcome both to MSE and to this thread and you won't be ignored.
Right hunnie, grab your eggnog and some munchies and make yourself at home. Just don't move the cat basket from in front of the fire!
Be kind to yourself angel.
Much Love,
