Has no one thought of the obvious solution?
You can get little heaters that plug in to the lighter and will demist/defrost a screen.

I'm only a girlie and even I know about these!
Also, it hasn't dropped below freezing now for days and isn't due to until the weekend."There is a light that never goes out"0 -

The OP was made when it was freezing every morning, the item that you describe will only clear a small part of the front screen, it will not clear it all, nor will it clear the side windows, so much for " girlie power "..0 -
It is a 200w heater, it will clear the screen and warm up the ambient temperature inside the car - an abundant supply of kitchen roll will mop up the moisture too. I hardly think the op was talking about an inch of ice inside her windows.
Such heaters are commonplace in Scandinavian countries actually - you know, really cold countries - they are normally remote control and turned on 30 minutes before needing to use the car.
If you want to do "sarky" you don't stand a chance duck."There is a light that never goes out"0 -

Real girlie power would diagnose and fix the actual problem like man power!

Actually it is 150watt, the engine would need to be running to use it without the battery draining to flat, cost of fuel, cost of heater, cheaper to just fix the car.
So much for " girlie power ".. :rolleyes:0 -
does the car not have a heated front screen most fords do
it has air con as you have said the recirculation button is not working nowremember it is nice to be important
but more important to be nice0 -

No - real girlie power would find some [strike]sucker[/strike] susceptible man to fix it for her! Real woman power would fix it her self!
Happy being a girlie:p

Don't know why but when I put water in the heater started working again!
i used to know my coolant level needed topping up when the heating stopped - i am a girlie!! but was always able to rectify the problem wit a bit of water in the correct bit of the engine!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -

Of course, putting water in to the engine would be the kiss of death come winter time.
:rolleyes:0
