somerfields in paisley , renfrewshire ( east lane store ) still has a supply of the micromaxx pocket gps for £129.99 , they also have the dysons ( all models ) , fuji cameras , mp3 players and everything else , the only thing they are waiting to get back in is the garmin i3 .
A sales manager told me all the stock in the country was being transferred to only 3 stores - paisley , aberdeen and stornaway - i dont know if she was right but the paisley store certainly got extra stock in yesterday and today .
    hope this helps someone .

    :A

Am I correct in reading that the I3 is easier to read than the PDA - if so I agree - I could hardly see the PDA in normal light let alone sunlight - that's why it went back.

Went to sommerfield Aberdeen and managed to bag myself a garmin I3 for £99. Very impressed with it. They had lots of boxes there but without the units in and they had to check in the warehouse to see if they had any and luckily they did but did not say how many more.

I went to the Garmin site today to update my software as recommended on here. They have 'Beta Software: StreetPilot i3 Ver. 2.82 Beta as of March 6, 2006 ' .

Has any1 installed this and used it ? Should I be looking to download this onto my I3

Just got back from Halfords, I took my i3 back to Staples because it was actually V7 maps, not V8 like it said on the box (if you have not checked the unit, look in the settings to make sure you actually get what you bought) got a refund, went to Halfords and did a price match to Staples and got a free £10 voucher, so paid £109 for it, £10 cheaper :D happy now.

Nope, Stornoway store sells lots of electricals, due to limited competition (the Outer Hebrides only has one large Co-op and one Somerfield in total - and they're both in Stornoway), although the SatNavs and speed camera detectors don't sell very fast there for obvious reasons (not many roads and NO speed cameras). I imported a few back with me when I was working up there!!
