Haha, nice one Betty Boop, I just got back from the Great Yarmouth staples a minute ago and bought mine for £120...DOH! I only tried the local Somerfields and they were all sold out, oh well, it's a good piece of kit, only too happy to have paid £120 :D

Oh yeah, I was told in store that if you get one, get the V8 maps.....if you send off for a V7 - V8 upgrade, you don't get everything which you do if you just buy a new one with the V8 maps :)

Find that hard to believe .. did you ask him what the difference was?

At the end of the day all the map data is on the card ... you send off the card for a replacement one/someone preloads the new data on to it ... how can it be different? They don't add all the road data?

The other diff could be the firmware whether that goes onto the card or not, and thats free off the internet anyway.

Naah, I got V8 so didn't go in to detail but he said that they were aware of the free upgrade but it wasn't 100% of the V8 you get on new models, sorry I can't give any more info.

I'll have to wait and see when I get my upgrade!

Just out of interest, does anyone know if I go back to staples with my receipt and the number of somewhere they have it in stock still at 99GBP (the pound sign won't work on my keyboard, hmm) will they still price match and refund the difference?

    Thanks.

if you blag it and they don't check maybe.

But from what I heard all these chain stores have a 5-20 mile radius that they will price check. So for example yesterday someone in wales somehow managed to get one for £99 from somerfield .... you would have to collect from a Welsh price matching store :)

There is probably only a handful of stores left selling them at £99.

not £99 but if Staples have stock and you have a local Comet with their 110% price match the price should be c. £115 at Comet as their current price is £169.99 so 10% off £50 knocks £5 extra off

I just got mine from Staples today £119 and I think it must be a Version 7 as I can't see V8 on it but I do see Europe NT V7 (UK/Ireland only). Would I be correct in my assumption ?

Being new to this can anyone tell me what I am best to install onto my Garmin with the USB cable that I have got with it ?
