Just looking on how to get the Speedcamera stuff incorporated - any pointers welcome.........ta
Hi Pieman, thanks for the reply. Is version 4.1 running OK? MS state that 'Windows Mobile 2003' devices should use version 3.8. I assume it's OK to install but you might not get full functionality unless you have a 'Windows Mobile 5.0' device?
Here's a quote from the MS ActiveSync 4.1 download page: 'Faster file transfer speed and photo sync via Outlook are only available for Windows Mobile 5.0-based devices. For customers using Windows Mobile 2003 or 2002-based devices, please continue using ActiveSync 3.8'
Think I'll try 3.8, unless you know of a good reason to go with 4.1 that is.
As for speed cameras, I have not read up on PIO Warner yet but I assume this will do it, however, it states that you need 'Medion Navagator 5.1' and we only have 5.0 at the moment, though, there is a free 5.2 update available at the NAVAGON website but it is not the OEM medion branded version of the software so may no be available to us unless Medion make it available.
Let me know if you dig any deeper on this and I will do same.

Off to do some shopping now, hop I don't get lost.

Am I only the only one out there who bought the Micromaxx MDPPC150 from Somerfield and got the Medion Navigator 5 software? A lot of people appear to have got Tom Tom 5 awith theirs and are able to get free POI and speed camera downloads and yet there don't appear to be any for Navigator 5?0

Does the Garmin tell you what speed you are travelling at? It does show speed on any of the screenshots but that might be just for simplicity on the box.
Also, i havent read all this thread, but is it possible to get speed camera locations on the Garmin?
Cheers for any help0 -

(no) just to clarify .... the PDA's from Somerfield (Micromaxx or Medion branded) all come with Navigator software either version 4 or 5 - and not Tom Tom ....
The unit will run versions of TomTom fine .... (personally I know it runs 3 and 5), you need to check out https://www.pocketgps.co.uk and see what POI and speedcamera software you can use with the Navigator product that comes with the PDA's.0 -

It shows mph when the i3 isn't in route-following mode, ie., if you are just using the unit without entering a final destination. For the other question - read the thread! It's all here!0 -

That sounds good enough. Thats mainly how i will be using it. If i can find out how to get the speed camera on there then it would be ideal for me0 -
Thanks to the OP for this find! my husband was after one of the PDA's, we managed to get hold of one at Somerfields Poplar after asking the assistant as they were locked out the back in the office!
Its great, and my OH is very pleased with it!0 -
Anyone know of the best (i.e. cheapest) place that seels a Wi-Fi (802.11b) SD card?

hello,
i was able to buy the pda from my local kwik save.... great piece of kit for the price...
i am currently using active sync v4.1 and is working without problems [when u go to download on the MS website it says it is compatible with ppc 2003 version]...
i would like info on upgrading any software including navigon so will keep an eye out in this thread....
i used to own a dell pda and a separate gps unit 2 years ago... but sold that over a year ago, but i do know how to use this unit..... didn't want to garmin as i thought it was too small and no touchscreen....0 -
Haymish - see what you mean about 4.1; It doesn't really matter to me I don't think as I'm only syncing my Lotus Notes calendar and Address Book- which I use EasySync Pro which sits on top of ActiveSync.
I've just done the initial Sync and it all looks good on the PDA......What should I put in here that won't upset people.........0
