Saying they will give MACs and refund is ok but do you really think you will get MAC(I HAVE BEEN WAITING 10 DAYS)and for the amount of cash thet will have to pay out is not possible in my opinion. If you need to get in touch with E7 try OTELO these are onbudsmen and are talking to E7 daily about problems we are having, hope this helps someone.Tel 0845 05016140

thanks thats a really good point -3days- I think I overlooked that but we got the email on the 13th of Jan - so the next three working days means Monday through to Wednesday, which makes today the last day!?
Do not forget you can get your MAC and wait and see how things go over the next few weeks; the MAC just expires after 4 weeks I believe. Hope I am correct on these points -again thanks to previous contributor for reminder.0

It looks like the only problems are now with the bbuk realm.
I am on this realm and it is very slow.
The e7 site has just been updated:
 Update: 18th Jan 2006 11:03.
Engineers are working with the network provider to resolve the speed issue on the BBUK ADSL network.
Some progress has been made and we believe that the current speed problems on the BBUK network are nearing a resolution, at this time we are unable to confirm a time-scale for the problem to be fixed, however we will post an update once this information becomes available.
Again we apologise for the problems that users have experienced during the upgrade period.
Fingers crossed !To infinity and beyond!0

It is not only bbuk realm that has problems. I lost e7even.com connection last Wednesday and have been unable to get connection to e7even.com or e7broadband.com since. No reply to e-mail to technical support. Information provided on web site has been woefully inadequate (no info posted between 13th and 18th and the info posted only relates to bbuk realm). Lack of information provided by E7 is a disgrace and tests loyalty of their customers to the limit!0

If you paid by cheque or debit card, etc., then you need to consider that if anything does happen to e7even then it will be difficult to recover any money.
However, as they are offering to pay out refunds to disgruntled users, they must have cash in the bank or have access to funding from elsewhere - and no financial institution will lend to a company on it's knees. I don't think e7even is anywhere near as close to collapse as some would make you think. If e7even can use the present situation to reduce the number of users on their systems (particularly the financial liability of high bandwidth users) perhaps they can provide a satisfactory service to those who are left.
Incidentally, I myself am still on the user@e7even.com login and have not been transferred as expected. I have suffered absolutely no service interruptions during the 'upgrades' and download speeds are currently excellent.
However, it is obvious that many customers have been let down and I can fully understand how these people are feeling.
I have requested my MAC code but have not recived it ..... i am not happy at all.
If i contact the CC company exactly how would the refund go? Total ? Half ?
How can i get E7 off my line so i can sign up with another ADSL provider ? Ca i phone ofcom or bt and get them to disconnect the e7 ADSL?
I have emailed and phoned E7 but with no reply its been over 120 hours now since i requested my MAC.
 thanks

Just to inform people that I have got my MAC code from E7 ........ however since yesterday I have been able to log in using the E7even username.I dont know what to do now.I am going to find out whats available in the meantime to decide what to do.If it works without any further problems for the next few weeks I might just stick to E7 as the value and service(before all this problem) is good!!
 Any thoughts????Berba0

Usually, any refund from the CC company would be for the proportion of contract remaining - however this would only be relevant if the company goes bust - the CC company is actually jointly liable for the original contract, so you could also ask them to provide an equivalent service to that originally contracted.
MACs are being sent out according to folk on the ADSLguide forum, but I guess there is a bit of a backlog... If you cannot get a MAC from E7, you can contact OFCOM and complain, but they are pretty toothless. If you cannot get a MAC from E7, you can contact OFCOM and complain, but they are pretty toothless.
If all else fails, you can move without a MAC, but your new provider will have to "cease and re-provide" on your line, meaning that your E7 ADSL connection will be removed entirely and you new ISP will connect your ADSL from scratch - meaning a new (or deferred) connection fee and a break in service.
Still on user@e7even.com login here, no problems at all - excellent speeds and no service interruptions at all...0

This may come in handy for you if E7 still don't give you your MAC.
Phone OTELO on 0845 050 1614 They are the Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman. They are aware of problems with E7 at the moment.
One member at the adslguide E7 forum rang them up. They contacted E7, and the member received two calls from E7, saying that they had been contacted by OTELO. They promised him his MAC within 24 hours.
I've just seen a new post from him, and he has received his MAC.
This method looks like it will work for anyone not receiving their MACs.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
