My O2 Phone Bill !!! Help Please !!
Can anyone help me I am currently on an O2 contract which runs out this month. last month i recieved a stupidly high phone bill of £300 for 1 month, my average bill is £66 a month.
There is no way that i have used my phone that much !!
I have rang O2 and they have done an investigation and said that it is all correct, the main part of the bill was for Internet access £230.
I have now bared my phone and told them i want nothing more to do with O2 but obviously they are now taking my bill to there crediters as i have canceled my direct debit.
what can I do about this and who i could i take my complaint to, how can i take this matter further ?
Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you have used £230 worth of 'internet access'.
Why do you think you should not need to pay for it?

I understood that o2 had two plans that you could choose for internet - £7.50 unlimited bolt on for the month, or a cap at £1 per day. Not sure if you have to opt in to the £1 per day deal as I thought that was the fall back (though they did try telling me £1 per day was a better deal than £7.50 for the month when I signed up!). If you don't opt in to these, then I think that it is £3 per MB?

If not then you can get back to them, if you did then I'd pay the bill0 -
If you speak to a manager they might knock the charges down to the price of an unlimited internet bundle as a goodwill gesture. No guarantee though - you're charged as per your tariff at time so they are entitled to say you're liable for all charges as they are.I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.0

Cancelling your DD is the worst thing you can do. They'll pass it to an agency and they start collection proceeding, your credit file will get destroyed and take 7 years to get reset.
Talk to O2 as suggest above, don't let it get as far as the agency...0 -

That's true, and normally they will do if this is your first time. Just don't expect for free but some discount, budge with them.0 -

Even if the phone connected to the internet in a pocket, it would only be charged at that one pages rate - a small number of kb, not time.
If it's your first time getting a high bill like that, maybe a new phone? then phone o2 and tell them, they will most likely wipe it.
